View Full Version : Why Does Everybody Hate Netacore?

This is something that has been bugging me for sometime... it seems that everybody hates Netacore. My experiences with them have been nothing but stellar, and after being hosted by them for 10 months so far with hardly a hiccup, I think I can honestly say they're not bad.

As for support tickets? The only time I ever had a support ticket answered late was when one of the servers got fried, and Norsher had to rush around to get it all dealt with. It was 3 or so days before I got a reply, which is not long at all considering it was on a weekend and Norsher was probably pulling his hair out. Other than that, I've literally gotten replies within minutes. While, just this Saturday or so, at about 8pm in the evening, I submitted a support ticket to Norsher about a potential DoS (which I had informed him about a few weeks ago earlier, with a similar response time). It was actually 10 MINUTES for a reply. Not only that, but while other sites were literally going down by the handful due to the DoSers, ours remained completely unscathed. Which brings me to my past host.

Powweb. We were under the same situation... for some reason, people seem to enjoy threatening anime sites, usually if they're mentioned on other sites. Anyway, we GOT DoSed, and the entire SERVER was down for 3 days, even though we kept the owner frequently updated. In the end, he basically called us children and told us to go "play in the sandbox", afterwhich he immediately deleted our account with no chance to backup the data. Then comes the real zinger... on the forums, one member asked why he wasn't trying to help us, and he deleted HIS account. Rediculous.

Anyway, back on NEtacore, there are even more reasons to go with them. We were actually having bandwidth problems (THe account we were on had 20gb of bandwidth), and we couldn't afford to pay for more. In fact, we came on here and were looking for a potential host, when lo and behold, Norsher impressed me once again by offering us 15 extra gigabytes (more than enough!) to our account if we placed his link on our site, as per the suggestion of several members on WHT. Plus, on top of that, Norsher offered us a deal that if we referred 10 members, he'd not only provide us with our 35gb of bandwidth, but he'd host our entire account ($25 a month) for *free*. Once again, I was awed.

So I'm sitting here wondering how we could have consistantly received good support, while dozens of other people haven't. We actually didn't need any help setting up (We're rather experienced in the matter), and so we never got to experience his excellent setup. All I know is, though, that the road with Netacore has been one of the easiest I've ever been on, and its one of the first hosts that doesn't require a constant bugging of the company for questions. I recommend Netacore to just about everybody, for its excellent service, deals, and staff. In fact, we've gotten 4 referrels in the past month or two that we've kept the deal. So I ask again, what's the problem?

Netacore was my second paid hosting experience after Geocities then Versehost. That was about a year ago. Netacore at the time was having sporadic downtimes with the server I was on, something I wasn't accustomed to on Geocities, so even though I had my very own control panel (it is where I really come to appreciate cPanel) downtime was frightening, even short bits. I was looking for a place to put my companies web pages that was already hosted on a server with no control panel, (FTP was my only tool) and no noticed downtime for a year.

So I moved on to the next and at this time I have three sites at three hosts to determine which is best. At this time, they are all three fine, I may keep it this way. This way only one will be down at a time. (they are also at three different data centers)

To conclude Netacore was an up and coming hosting business and probably have improved, they are certainly friendly and helpful.
