This is a not-for-profit operation (no, i cant afford to pay anyone)

What I can give it recognition. I will list all the developers, with their websites somewhere on this new project site.

The concept is a HOSTING only auction site. Selling nothing more than anything to do with the hosting market, no artifacts, no ps2 games, no human fecies (ebay has weird stuff..)

ehostbid.com is the start. The only thing I have had time to do is a layout, and some half azz member login scripts.

Still need everything else..

Specs:__________________

Automated system

Auction creation/deletion
Feedback system (of some sort)
Use your imagination.

Post in this thread if your interested in helping out.

Please dont bother if your not willing to lend a hand.

Thanks for your time.

Sure, I would be willing to help. The idea of the script functionality and purpose is hard to understand. Could you please explain it a bit more? :)

Are you saying you would like to create a website where Web hosting companies can go and auction off packages etc?

Exactly, but not just hosting packages, I want to focus on hosting hardware, servers, bandwidth offers, colocation offers.. whatever..

as far as script functionality, I will have (and have) and mysql backend I want the site to work with to allow users to automatic create their own accounts (email notifications etc..) and allow them to login to their own account, and create an auction. I am thinkin of having two types of accounts, those who are verified companies, and just buyers.. That we we wont get thousand spam people trying to sell bottomless pit packages.

New features and whatever can be dissused as we go. For the 4-5 of you that replied, whens a good time to start? I will put up a development bulletin board on the site and we can start discussing what happenes first, and who is the best to work on what. I know in PHP there are people who know ALOT, but may not understand login sessions, and some who know login sessions and dont have a clue to to query a database. With the people that are interested, I want to get a feel for what your limits are.

Thanks for your interest, I am very appreciative that all of you volunteered.

Dave

To elaborate on this a little, we all know about ebay, and other auction sites, that are designed to sell anything from flowers, little army men, and yeah, you can squeeze hosting stuff in there.

My goal is to create a automated site that allows companies to "auction" their services off, not always are like 1$, but have a similar idea of "reserve pricing" and other stuff that will give the seller more control over their auctions.

This will give host co's and buyers a centralized place where the business is to get GOOD prices on the features THEY want.
