I was just wondering if you were sure of those banner sizes, as I dont think those are standard sizes, if those are the correct sizes, expect my entry soon. Also do you want these animated? or have any special requests, IE color scheme?

for everyones protection, id recommend you put SAMPLE across each banner.

to many great artists and designers get bilked out of their work by displaying it and then never get the prize.

again, mark up the work so that its not usable until AFTER payment is received. just a word to the wise!

jimmytimbo: alan is a well respected member of this forum as well as the owner of a highly regarded hosting business, none of the contestants have anything to fear by displaying their work without watermarks.

alan: imho it would be best if you provided your logo(s) to serious contestants in a decent format so they wouldnt have to snatch it off your website =]

Im offering $125 to make it worth while for people to enter even though they might not win.

If Im going to spend several thousand on advertising a little more to get a good banner is worth it.

I dont think you should copy the logo off of my site, it looks ok on my site but looks a bit out of place on most peoples banners.

There is my attempt. I know I am not super at graphics but I consider than a desent job.

i completely forgot that quality was lost when saved as gif (im used to saving as swf) so after i saved as gif, i went back and made a jpg version for if you want good quality without the animation. heres 4 banners, 2 gif, 2 jpg. the first two display your logo, the second two dont.

Also what type of banner are you looking for...if you have examples pleae show. Comon. Its not fair to string people along like this, you said you were going to announce the winner 7 days ago. People spend alot of time to make these banners even though they know they may not win, and you leave them hanging.

But it's like 89 KB :eek: The inter hosted one was like 45KB

Having experience with this, most big time sites will not allow banners over 20KB, and if they make an exception it's usually just a little one.

The freetoolsinc.com banner stayed under 20KB and looks really good though....

thats one of the reasons I dont have a final decision yet, they will need to make the changes I want and reduce the size before they can win.

Some of those file sizes are so big, i don't see how they can reduce it without drastically changing the banner.
