What happens if somebody initiates a transfer of my domain at registrar, hacks my mail server and confirms the transfer to another registrar, thus gets a hold of my domain? Can I get it back somehow, or is it lost for good? thanks!

If that happens please let us know. I would say your email password was a dictionary word and an easy one at that. Must be a good domain name. Still not the answer you are looking for, I am awaiting the answer too.

as per ICANN rules the parent registrar can request to transfer back for the domain for any reason they want, from eNom's registration agreement in section 14:
"...You further acknowledge and agree that your registration of a domain name is subject to suspension, cancellation or transfer by any ICANN procedure, by any registrar (including eNom) or registry administrator procedures approved by an ICANN-adopted policy, (1) to correct mistakes by eNom, another registrar or the registry administrator in administering the name..."

Sorry, I should be more specific. No, this hasnt happend to me, however you never know when it might to somebody of us.. Im just wondering what would happen since this question once popped up in another conversation. When I say hacked mail server, I mean if somebody would actually hack the mail server and not just guess the password. Although, it doesnt really matter since either way he could initiate the transfer..

Bashar: thanks, but what Im wondering is - would registrar do that for me? Reverse the transfer? I mean, I dont have any proof that domain has been stollen from me and that I havent sold it and now just want it back and rip my buyer off.. ??

i think its a matter of contacting your current registrar and informing them, they will contact the other registrar which will contact the new owner

if he fail to confirm that he bought it from you i suppose they will return it for you.

this happend for me earlier a customer transfered iran.net to me and enom asked me to prove this transfer i've contacted the buyer which he said he bought it for xxx and all sales went via emails, well enom couldn't let me hold the domain for such prove and they transfered the domain back to the old registrar :)

Can you explain this? Im not sure I understand what exactly was your role in this.. Why did Enom contact you and not the client of yours who owned the domain? Am I missing something here? Thanks!
