Am looking for cost information for hooking into the backbone using either a T3 or an OC3 connection. What would the general price be based on location, distance away from the connection, bandwidth, ect.
I currently am doing research for a business plan for lendors, and need to know the general information. Also who has these connections? I looked at UUNET's website, but there was no pricing information. Any assistance would be helpful.

Also if anyone has written a business plan for a hosting business, and have any additional information you would like to share....

Thanks,

Kilroy...

Ill I can say is UUNet is the most expensive of almost anyone out there, there is no pricing info, because it all depends on about a 100 different factors, the largest of them, how well you can negotiate.

You can see the pricing of the most common north american providers here:

http://www.ispworld.com/isp/bb/n_america.htm

The pricing structures listed are not set in stone, but give you a good idea of what you will expect to pay.

We suggest getting quotes from multiple providers and then choosing the one you feel most comfortable with and give them the quotes from the other providers. This will enable you to "haggle" a bit because most providers will match or beat their competitors prices.

Thanks ID. That's a very interesting (and useful) list.
