I'd love to hear from any of you hosts out there that have maxed out a server with customers and have started another machine.

Specifically, what would you have done differently the first time through?

Should you have gotten that extra large HD or that better Support? I find the old quote "You get what you pay for" can sometimes bite you later, but how did it bite?

Thanks!

It is pretty simple to upgrade the hardware on a unix based machine.
Only problem is probably the hard drive, where usually easier to just add another drive.
Actually changing/replacing the current drive, and you are talking alot of work...
Ghosting/copying the old drive to the new sounds a lot better than it really is...usually you have partition problems, etc....

NT/2000 can be more picky if you start switching motherboards.

Just find a host that is pretty willing to upgrade hardware as needed...
