Hi,

could anybody tell me if the ending -ctor gives any special meaning to a word or combined word with the -ctor?

Thank you

It's a Greek suffix. It denotes action, ownership.

E.g. Chiropractor: the person who uses his hands to "act".

PS If you saw My Big Fat Greek wedding, where the father tries to explain every word as having a greek root, that was a good joke :D The Windex was stupid though.
