how many 20Gb sites can my server host?
my server is P3 750, 128 ram . Will the 20gb sites cause cpu overload or something harmful that may bring the server down?

Please give advise on how to manage my server that is going host for large bandwidth sites.

The question all depends upon how much cpu usage the sites utilize. If they are all small sites that are pretty static, they should be fine. It all depends upon how they tax the processor.

Those sites are adult site....so i am prepare to get bandwidth burst by them. Just need to estimate how many sites i can host on my this P3 750 , 128 ram server.

If they're adult sites and they're about 20GB, then you should worry more about the capacity of your hard drives more than the CPU use, as adult sites/images won't put a heavy strain on the CPU.

What i fear is the 128 ram would not able to handle so many sites on one server. I fear server may go down since this is my 1st time allow adult/warez hosting..

Eeek, get some more ram in it. 128Mb is for toys these days, especially if you are expecting a fair few sites using 20Gb of bandwidth or a lot of concurrant hits on the sites - Also, ram isn't that expensive these days.

YIKES!! :eek: are u sure u want warez sites on your sever? is your host/provider ok with this? very few host/providers are so you better check that out

eek that is a really hard question to answer. There is absolutely no way to tell. One site could be more popular than the other and so forth.

If anyone can give you an answer, I definitely would like to hear it.

No one is going to be able to give you an exact number. There are way too many factors involved. Your best bet is to follow the previous advice (more RAM, make sure you have a big enough HDD) and then load a few sites on it. You'll see very quickly how much load one site puts on the server. Then you can plan accordingly.

i help my friend admin his COBALT server and he hosts adult sites
its RAQ4i so
128 mb ram 450mhz AMD

and his traffic goes around 20-30GB/day
i must say server handles this pretty well :D :D

* note most of this adult sites are movie sites
so the only have one BIG index page with 30 000-100 000 uniqe visitors a day so this could be the reason this is going ok on this server .....
** warez sites also have only html pages without any datas so it should be the problem

domus 20-30gig/day off a raq with 128 ram. I must say that I am impressed with that. I think my 128 ram on one of my servers maxed out at 10gigs/day serving up static adult html files/pictures.

most of pages on that server have ONLY HTML FILES NOTHING MORE not even images since they are allmost allways hotlinked from some 5mb account on some isp

my max was 60GB/day for 3 days
