well, im not a political person and i didnt bother voting in this years election in the UK, but even i can see that the conservatives got completely thrashed, battered, stoned, shredded, destroyed, smashed, wrecked, quashed, demolished (ok, im out of english now, lol)

William "Hopeless" Hague failed miserably to even dent the labour majority.

notice how easy the UK election was compared to that of the USA, it was over before it even started, the papers were printed last week!!

Utterly pointless election!

Not a lot changed, but it could of.

A lot of people didn't vote (40.1%) and those that did thought it was a two horse race (Labour or Conservatives), the majority of people thought they had to vote for a party that could easily win, hence many voted Labour even though they didn't want to. Only a minority of people understood that voting other parties, even though they were'n't going to win, would affect parliament and influence the political decision for the next four years.

Labour got in with a landslide, which is negative thing for any democracy. They have no significant opposition in parliament and basically anything that labour want to push through they can example: gay literature in junior schools where 99% parents are against it (tony blair thinks it in the best interest), easy-going on bogus asylum seekers; money allowance, nhs preference over long serving pensioners etc.. (tony blair thinks that to crack down on it would be seem as racist). etc... etc.. etc..

Personally I voted Lib Dems, and it wasn't a wasted vote, Lib Dems popularity is rising and hopefully next election it will again, they have some sense and will provide a decent opposition to Labour. At the moment however Lib Dems+Conservative+Others isn't even 2/3rds of Labours share.

I was honestly too busy on WHT to go place my vote :D

The Lib Dems do indeed seem to be massively increasing in popularity but it will be some time before they have a good influence in parliament.

Think about it though, Labour have a plan for the future, however bad it may be, they have been very clever in getting votes, talking about the history of the conservatives.

I must admit, Hague done nothing for the Cons. hes the most useless man ive ever come across, he has now resigned and maybe will be able to get a half decent replacement, someone with a little more public popularity. I feel at the curent rate Labour are set to win the election again in another 4 years with another landslide victory unless someone with a little more get up and go leads the conservatives.

This term will show if Labour really are telling the truth about their policies, they told the UK to give them 8 years to do it, and they now have their chance, if the skrew it up this time who knows what will happen... only time will tell...

See America is great like that, if we wanted a monarchy we would have not launch the revoluion. We never know who is going to win most of the time....

Our last election was our true Repulic showing through and I am proud to call me self an American, because my for fathers died for it.

Poke fun at americans maybe in good humor but don't forget who kicked whose butt in the Revolution
