Hi, I'm thinking of starting my own reseller site, and have been for quite some time now. Can somebody recomend some websites to look around at about this subject?

This website is a great start.
Then look at some of the offers for resellers, then make a decision and dig in.

Are you looking to sell reseller accounts or sell shared hosting from a reseller plan you would like to purchase?

It's hard to recommend you a suitable host with little information that you've provided. Besides, no host companies can advetise in this forum "Reseller Forum."

The best way is to narrow down everything you need. Do not pay for the things you would not use. Specific your request like how much bandwidth you would drive every month, how much disk space you would need, etc.

Do not intend to pay in advaced to save a buck or two (yearly or quarterly) for reseller accounts unless you trust the host company very much that they won't run out of business during the contract.

You may have to look for the company which offers the best that you request. General features and nameservers are a must if you'd like to act like a web hosting company. A control panel that you and your clients can control their accounts easily. A phone tech support that you can reach them whenever it's needed.

After you have decided everything you need to get started, post a request in the "Web Hosting Request Forum" with your clarification of your needs. You will most likely to get some offers and deals from the people here. Do a search in this forum and see how their reputation is, at least in this forum. If you can't find anything, that means maybe they are new. Try to ask reviews from others which may have been with them.

Good luck.

I *think* he's asking for resources about how to get started as a reseller- how to decide what to charge, how to set up payments, caring for your clients, what to look for when shopping for a reseller account etc...

(tries to look like he isn't eavesdropping on the answers)

:dunce:

I think you're right Torgen. Well, the forums here at WebHostingTalk have been super valuable for me as I start adding reseller hosting to my web design services. Also a site called The whir has tons of resources as well.

I hope this helps...A little background, I own a small web design shop and am getting to hosting, because everytime I make a site I have to contact some lame local host with poor customer service, and I was getting fed up. So I decided to become a hosting reseller and here's what I found so far.

The ebi Group?s Website
Reseller Business and Marketing Plans about 35 bucks each

TheWhir and WebHostingTalk
Research and valuable information from peers

ModernBill/ISPTek
Billing management software that automates the whole darn thing.

BobCares/Hostworks
24/7 Phone and email Support for your customers

That's all I know right now. There are several host that offer reseller plans, so that's easy to find.
