Currently, there are really two types of reseller packages.
One one hand, there are the bulk reseller accounts. These accounts provide disk space and bandwidth to the reseller, and the reseller then divides it out. The bulk accounts provide for both a set number of domains or unlimited domans, depending on the provider.
On the other hand there are what I call "normal" reseller accounts. Resellers sell accounts, each account with its own disk and bandwidth quota. Resellers generally pay per account (most common), or per bunch of accounts.
Which of these two methods do you prefer, and why?
Which method produced better profits for you?

In my opinion, the bulk option would be the easiest. It's centrally administered and the reseller has more control.

I prefer bulk accounts because you have better control over your clients, better control over the plans available, you can set your own pricing and also because the client is usually 100% unaware that you are reselling another hosts plans.
It also allows you to auto create accounts upon receiving payment instead of putting thru an order with the top level host.
:) Hope this is the explaination you were looking for.

Yes, I think that is the explanation I am looking for.
I have been finding it hard to find out what turns people off from my service. I guess I need to add a bulk plan.
I wonder how many people are afraid they'll be at my company's mercy when they want a new account added. It is very hard to explain to people that they DO have control of the situation.
The only resellers we have that are really at our mercy are the folks that call in to add accounts when they're on the road, etc. Even that we're working on fixing. The phone system will start letting resellers add accounts.

I prefer bulk accounts. They offer more flexibility, thus allowing me to have more freedom in how I operate my business and generate sales.

Bulk reselling is what I would prefer. Sometimes its better to create custom packages rather than use the preset ones. Its more convenient in my opinion, although I'm sure some would argue the other way around.
