View Full Version : Tranxact/DV2 Rent to Own Special
sailor 03-19-2003, 03:39 AM I have 2 of these - might make more depending on the demand and interest and my availablity.
Total fee per month is 825.00. This is payable for 12 months. at the end of 12 months the fee drops to 325 per month.
This includes one full 42u rack monthly rental, 1 mbps 95% multihomed bandwidth per month, 8 PIII 1 ghz - 1x 40 gig hd - 512 mb ram servers, 1 cisco 2924 XL fast e switch, 1 apc masterswitch 9211.
all of this comes completely installed and configured for linux rh and complete with a block of 64 ip addresses.
the switch is connected to our network via a 100 meg connection into our back bone and is our multihomed bandwidth. There is not any cogent on this at all (we dont even have it any more period).
You will own all the hardware listed above after 12 months.
all additional bandwidht will be billed on 95% billing at 125 per mbps.
This is incredible deal an I only have 2 of these available. you will need to pm if you want it - I am on first pay first serve. Thanks.
serverplex-1 03-19-2003, 03:46 AM Hi Sailor:
How much do we get cpanel on these for?
Thanks
Bobby
ikiwi.net 03-19-2003, 03:51 AM nice deal, what support is offered with it?
sailor 03-19-2003, 03:51 AM I still have cpanel on special on PIII's for 29.99 per month.
sailor 03-19-2003, 03:53 AM our typical support for colo customers. we will replace your hardware for cost on the upgrades page and a fee of 40.00 if it fails. you own the replacement of course. we will do all other support for 40$ every 15 minutes. customers are happy with our support and we bill for the smallest increment I know of. we are manned 24x7.
ikiwi.net 03-19-2003, 03:53 AM can you give more info on bw and bw billing
sailor 03-19-2003, 03:55 AM Originally posted by ikiwi.net

ikiwi.net 03-19-2003, 03:55 AM is it possible you will have a simillar offer to this in a month or so?

I am not sure if we will or not.
you have your own apc remote reboot controller included in the deal - so you can control your own reboots whenever you like. :)
ikiwi.net 03-19-2003, 04:04 AM are other costs etc same as your site, i.e i.ps, upgrades to hardwarwe etc, or discounted?

(I have just finshed up ikiwi internet, I (due to my sale) can not do hosting account sales direct, but this is (ded servers) something I may be intrested in.
Venture may include, Rent to own options for clients and normal quailty but compedative rates.
Cheers.

Techark 03-19-2003, 04:53 AM What is the cost for more IPs? Say I want 250 Ips for these servers?
coight 03-19-2003, 05:09 AM Nice deal Jeff
sailor 03-19-2003, 11:08 AM extra ips are $1 each per month on a justified basis.
yes - these are small cases and I think about 16 will fit per rack.
BurtonHost 03-19-2003, 08:04 PM Sailor,
How many U each are these servers? For the 12month they are still rented from you - will you cover any faulty hardware in them until we own after 12 months.
Also, is the cisco part of this rent - to - own deal or leased in the 325.
Thanks
realalien 03-19-2003, 08:05 PM are this boxes you have used for project mercury?
ServeTech 03-19-2003, 08:25 PM What kind of price would you give us if we took both of them? Could we have 24x7 access to the servers? If we have our own IP block, would you be willing to route that for us? Is there any kind of warranty on the hardware?

I think they are 3 - you can see them on the web site pics - they are the small cases.
we dont cover the hardware - we will replace it for cost of the parts and 40.00 replacement fee. we have had excellent luck with these - so I dont think there will be many issues.
cisco is part of the deal. so is apc.

the price listed x 2. :)
yes you can have 24x7 access
we will route your ips for you.
no warranty- however it is very reliable. you are not going to have any major problems. just an ocasional drive.

yes - some are -they are rock solid.
2Grumpy 03-19-2003, 10:34 PM Argh so am I reading this right that these aren't 1U servers?
If they're 1U servers then I'd likely take 1 of these.
KyleLC23 03-19-2003, 10:59 PM I am very, very intrested. I would like to know about what backbones you are on? Free reboots? Where are you located? How big is your company? Are these sold yet? Thanks, Kyle

Even if we wanted all of the servers in one rack? Could you lower the price then?

yes then we can lower the price. it would be 1325 for 16 servers in one rack.

yes then we can lower the price. it would be 1325 for 16 servers in one rack.
Is that then with 2mbps of BW?
sailor 03-20-2003, 11:35 AM no - it is 1 mb of bandwidth. 2 would be 1450 per month.
SuperDon 03-20-2003, 01:12 PM so the hardware is used?
sounds like a good deal, we have been looking for something along these lines for a while.
tandem 03-20-2003, 02:38 PM Sailor, could you have a look at my question at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112099 ?
Thnx.

some of it is - some is not.
do you want one of them?
SuperDon 03-20-2003, 05:10 PM Well, I would be very interested if it was new equipment with some kind of guarantee.
Emrys 03-20-2003, 05:56 PM Sailor, you might wanna check the width of the table at https://billing.tranxactglobal.com/order/. It's kinda big :)
2Grumpy 03-20-2003, 06:08 PM DV2 is too busy making sure the network rules to spend time screwing around with tables! :D
Speaking of which the "expensive" data center was down going on an hour this afternoon, no word why, just unreachable. I'll be so happy to get everything into DV2 next weekend. On one hand I am worried about having most of my eggs in one basket but damn it's hard enough to find one reliable basket to put those eggs in, much less two, or three!

well - that would be more money - which you probably would not be interested in.
new equipment has a higher failure rate than used that has been through the burn in and operation phase - we have already culled the heard so to speak. ask anyone - the stats dont lie.
you will be better off with this.
SuperDon 03-21-2003, 04:13 AM well, i agree, it would be probably better in the short term....but in the long term the hardware will have a shorter "life".
it would be good if you could supply some history on the machines, ie. exactly how old, what were the machines used for etc.

in the long run - the life will be fine - if you are still using these machines when they finally die (in 10-20 years) you will be in trouble.
You all need to quit thinking you are somehow missing out on 15 cents - please dont be offended - but this is as good a deal as it gets out there.
these have all been in production in our data center for project mercury servers for about 6 months.
SuperDon 03-21-2003, 06:35 AM Thanks for the further info.
I am actually not too concerned about the "15 cents". Just wanted to be sure that the hardware would be reliable and this would be a cost effective.
I presume contracts would be written to verify the deal?

yes - we can write it up.
sailor 03-21-2003, 03:55 PM ok -there is only one of these left now.
