You're kidding, right? What was the purpose of this post again?

<sacrasm>Yeah, you caught me... I'm kidding.</sacrasm>
I posted it to see if I could get stupid people to ask stupid questions, and it looks like it working--thanks!

See the Rules link at the top of your pretty little browser? Click on it and scroll to the bottom. You should find the following...

"We take the "be polite" rule VERY seriously! We do not tolerate ANY rudeness. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive will receive one warning (at our discretion), and if the member offends again the member will be banned without warning."

Post has been reported. Have a nice day.

Technical & Security Issues
-----------------------------------
Forum for discussing technical issues related to web hosting. Including configuring and optimizing web hosting servers, developing administration scripts, building servers, and protecting against hackers.

The original post has nothing to do with the general topic of this forum. The post had NO purpose whatsoever. If he would have asked "How can I reduce/optimize/etc the size of my MRTG folder" there may have been some value to the post. This is like saying "I have three 120gig harddrives in my server... can anybody beat that?" What is the purpose of such a post and what does it accomplish? My first post was not intended to be offensive or rude... I seriously was wondering why he had made such a post. His reply was obviously intended to be rude. (the sarcasm tag's and the stupid comments).

davidb: pyoor, you might want to read that rule also it does apply to you too.

Obviously the rule about not being rude applies to all that post here, not just him, me, or any single person. I actually had to read the rules to find that portion so I read it before I posted it, as I posted it, and even now I am looking back and reading it. Making me point this out is probably also making me also look rude...

This whole explanation and post could (and SHOULD) have been entirely avoided altogether if members would follow the rules and stay on topic.

If you'd like to continue this further and/or reprimand me for this post feel free to contact me on AIM: pyoor23... please don't abuse this board with more posts about this nonsense topic though.

You could ask him to move it, its what most people do, sometimes mistakes do happen

davidb gets a gold star for being friendly to the other kids in class...Originally posted by davidb
pyoor, you might want to read that rule also it does apply to you too. I was asking a simple "shop talk" question; you had to be rude and post a snide comment about my post. You could have saved some keyboard ink and ignored it if you didn't think it was a good question.

Maybe this was the wrong forum for it (I felt it was the right place), but that is trivial and not really your decision. I'm glad it was reported, now I don't have to!

If you ask this kind of questions, you should expect such a response.

The first thing in my mind was "WTF???".
