hi all
i'm chucking my old server(IBM netfinity 4000r) it had one 650 pIII for a new dual p3 750s w/133 fbs and 512 megs of ram. will be sporting raid 5 with 2 extra backup hdd. will probably pop in suse 7.0 hardend for os. it will be co-located in a redundantly connected NOC w/burstable bandwidth.
NOW FOR THE $64 QUESTION: can this handle a over 5,000,000 hits per month? i'm building her twin sister to bal the load it should be deployed about 2-3 weeks later. will first server last or should i wait for her sister?
thanks for any help

servers will only host this one site.

5 million hits a month, are they just standard views, or is there a lot of php, mysql code being used.

If you using a lot of php, mysql code I would wait for the sister to be built and deployed at the same time, another thing to I would recommend is more memory at least a GIG on the main server, and 512MB on the sister server.

Also, suse is a good flavor of unix, but I would also recommend FreeBSD, much more stable and secure.

do you guys use any special software to monitor server resources to make sure you're box isn't running itself crazy?
