The only thing I would be careful for is "Support 24/7(or 5) what happens when your site goes down at 8:00PM Friday if you cant get support till Monday morning?

He is usually on AIM all the time, but I could deal with 5 day suport, how do you know the 2 days are the weekend? heh.

If you could deal with having your site offline for 2 days (assuming the worst happens i.e site went down, and support happen to be away for 2 days), then by all means go ahead. You have nothing to lose then, other than 9.99.

***********: Mention in your thread that the host never offered 24/7 support. Because we won't not for now.

pricing is ok. As you said you don't mind waiting for a reply from support in 5 days then go for it. Their support might be faster.

btw, if the domain has those **** , meaning they get banned from here. Do some search on then before sign up.

justin... would you like any crackers, bread, or milk with that :spam: ?

Ok, let me make sure he doesn't get flamed for spamming, cause he didn't. The name of the host (me) isn't *** out... he was blocking out my AIM name.

Also, he was posting the plan he offered me as a custom plan instead of taking one of the plans I had. Just figured I'd step in before this went out of hand.

You know, Shoney, this is why you should make sure he is offering it.

Firstly, I know he isn't offering it... not in this particular forum, because that would be against forum rules, huh?

Secondly, I think we all see that he didn't mention the name of the host. Knowing the nature of WHT "I want it all for 1 dollar-2.98 a month" type lookie loos, it will spark some interest and result in PM's begging for the name of the host... whatcha think?

Third, If this was a "custom plan" he asked you to setup for him -- then I would think that he should *know* its a steal (to good to last) and have sweaty palms waiting for you to accept it and send him a link to send in his donation. ;)

I wasn't being overly critical of his post, and I didn't jump down his throat while posting it. I just posted my observation, of which is entitled me by the general basis that a public forum operates under

Of course you weren't calling him a big time spammer and telling him to leave WHT, but you said it was SPAM. I don't know why he was asking for opinions... maybe he felt like it. It just seems like people are getting more and more into the "spam" fad. I see a lot of threads get spammed with the "this is spam" post and I wanted to make sure this thread didn't turn into that.

Well. To be fair and objective, spammer came across the mind when I saw ****** as that's what happens to host who spams here....

Spam or not, what jumps out at me is that they are using PHP 4.2.3, which has several known exploits.

Otherwise it doesn't sound like too bad a deal. If they are only around for support five days a week, I would at least ask if they're monitoring the servers 24/7 and they'll be notified to fix them if they go down.

Atleast he's honest. You know 95%+ "24/7" support hosts only take email 24/7, but typically reply in 4 hours - 10 days. :)

The above was something he offered me. He, I assume, got that plan from another host and was seeing if I could accept it. We are running PHP 4.3.1, so whoever he got the plan from is quite out dated.

Yes, shoney, it was a snippet of our conversation. He didn't tell me he was posting this, I just noticed it as I was doing my daily glance over WHT.
