I'd like to install GD for use with PHP ...

I noticed I have a directory named /usr/local/php/ext/gd which contains several C files ... I suppose I must compile these ... how do I do it ? do I need something else ?

You may want to see if there is a pkg file. I lost my link to the pkg archive that I used to use (I know compile everything myself). If you can not find a pkg file, try using an older Redhat rpm.
