I see only the plain code in the signatures.
And I don't change any option of the profile.
is that disabled now?

Its a new rule, we spend far too much time moderating avatars and cleaning up signatures, because hosting companies don't know where to draw the line

It is clear that many companies come here just so just so they can flash their "advertising" signature or avatar, . If people leave because they can't have bold, smile, hyperlinks etc.. in their signature then it illustrates to me that[b]they're[b] only here for the referrals and I'm really not bothered about losing them.

I apologise to those who had a decent signatues with use of smilies and good link etc... but due to the continue exploitation of forum-rules by a minority of hosting companies (about 12) they have to go. Even after the new rules had been in place for nearly three weeks and the hosts were warned about their violations by email and violations removed many promptly looked for loopholes and uploaded/edited again. As moderators we can't go on devoting time to such trivial issues, best be gone with them.

Anyways, saves bandwidth, reduces load time and keeps the forum as it should be as an informative resource rather than a billboard.

I do hope that you still find this site a helpful resource, it's not as if the useful information is contained in the signature is it now? :) And signatures are still allowed, just not using VB code.

(I said to disable avatar and signature. Well Signature is somewhat disabled.)

I like it.

Yep. I edited about 60 people's signatures to get rid of the VB code which was now showing as plain text, it was a rush job and hence I may have missed a few things off. :D

hehe, how about just disabling signatures?
or just using the signature to show your name since it gets redundant at times to write your name at the bottom of all your posts?

i mean, no point of putting your URL there since you should have it in vBulletin's Homepage part of your profile, no need for email since vB also has that feature added... (including the PMs you can send) :D

i agree with klisis that the signature can be turned off completely since it has no added or subtracted value to any post at WHT. (saves server resources and bandwidth anyways :))

P.S. Matt, did you get my PM about the WHT buttons? you should've gotten it unless you disabled your PM thingie in control panel ;)

You can still add whatever you want to the signatures - they just won't be linked ;)

I for one, however, would like to see at least signatures retained because people should still be able to insert a favourite quote or their (personal/biz) sites....

But let's not go overboard.
