View Full Version : ezzi vs. NAC based vs. RackShack
nomorefp 03-16-2003, 11:21 AM I'm looking into purchasing my first dedicated server. I basically want RH 7.x, WHM/CPanel, root-access, bandwidth, and being left alone until I need a reboot.
I saw a couple of comparable plans from NAC based providers, but I'm a bit concerned about NACs recent power issues (I have two virtual hosts in NAC racks).
Now, EZZI is starting to look really good -- $99 rent-to-own with a bandwidth increase from 200 to 500 GB in six months seems almost too good to be true. Plus they have they're own network... I'd love to own my server anyway, and I may still add more colo later.
And then there's rackshack... looks like people are very polarized here, either love'em or hate'em.
NAC "feels iffy" to me, but I haven't found too much here to back that up. Ezzi feels "too good to be true", but I've seen some very positive posts from members with thousands of posts. RS, well, that's RS.
Anybody been with ezzi for a few months? years? impressions?
spectular 03-16-2003, 11:33 AM Well the only place I can tell you about is ezzi.net
They took 3 weeks to set up my server, watch out for them.

. . . . .. .
Anybody been with ezzi for a few months? years? impressions? Nearly two years. And not hardly anything negative to mention. Network, service, and support are really "too good to be true." I highly recommend them without reservation.
I can only imagine that there is more to spectular's story.
spectular 03-16-2003, 11:44 AM I ordered. Waited. 72 hours went by. I contact them. They said they'd be up "the next day". I contact them "the next day". This went on for 3 weeks. Full story :)
SoftWareRevue 03-16-2003, 11:48 AM weird
spectular 03-16-2003, 11:49 AM True, but I patiently waited, and now that I have the servers, they are great :)
SoftWareRevue 03-16-2003, 11:53 AM They didn't tell you what took so long?
Eric Lim 03-16-2003, 11:54 AM spectular, just something I am wondering. I am happy to hear you have got your server setup, but it seems like you haven't moved your website (in your signature) to your new server huh? Still using my dns after I sent you an account cancellation notice for your "forum" free hosting request!
By the way, if you want your backup, email me I will give you the links to download your scripts. Don't hate me, I am being nice.

No I don't need backup, that was stupid anyway. Very sorry :(
ispclub.com 03-16-2003, 01:29 PM spectular,
Would you be able to let us know who you are because I dont recall anyone waiting that long for a server.
Unless you are referring to when we first started renting the rent to own server because back then everyone had to wait about 2-3 weeks.
loopforever 03-16-2003, 02:10 PM spectular,
If you were in the first batch of Rent-To-Own XP2100s...then you're just like everyone else. Yes, there was a wait time (not nearly three weeks) but I found this to be understandable.
I contacted Ezzi regarding the setup time, and I got an answer that day. The cases had been backordered by the distributor so Ezzi purchased them from someone else.
You have to give them credit for doing their best to get the machines up. Assuming you still have your server now, I'm sure you have very little to complain about.
