Hi all,
I've lurked on this site for quite some time and decided to do "reverse host searching," as some of you suggested.
Compared to most of you (since it seems like you need business type requirements), my needs are pretty minimal. The domain is a personal one, and this is what I'm looking for in a host:
-- 50 Megs of space
-- 3 - 5 GB of bandwidth (I would've said 2, but I'm "thinking of the future" ;) )
-- CGI-bin
-- PHP
-- 1 or more subdomains
-- 5 pop3 email accounts (more would be okay, but they'd probably just sit there collecting digital dust)
-- 99.9% uptime
-- Able to password protect directories
-- Able to do custom error pages
-- Good support (preferrably 24/7)
-- No banners or pop-ups
-- A control panel would be nice
-- 30 day money back guarantee
I don't have gobs of money to depart with (try living in a country [Thailand] where the exchange rates for the US$ / UK pound / Euro is quite high and you'll understand). The most I would be willing to pay for the above small needs is $65/year. I was looking more at maybe $60 or less per year ($5 or less per month), but I'm also keeping in mind the adage "you get what you pay for" yada yada, so post even if your plan costs more.
I do hope we can work something out. Thanks!
