Most will say Internap but I am wondering who is after that.

Level 3
Global Crossing
Cogent
ATT
Sprint
Wilcom
etc.

They're all good in their own ways.

I'd probably go with the guys (who I think are a backbone) who are none only but Ardent Communications. (aka CAIS)

edit: I think they are BTN.

NAC and HE are bandwidth providers?

I thought they both were just datacenters.

Other than that. I prefer Sprint, Cable and Wireless, and Level 3.

Umm.. hurricane electric has pops all over the US (pao, sjc, Chicago, nyc, ashburn). NAC has a pops in ashburn, nyc, toronto, london, uk. etc. so they are not just "data centers" .. whatever that means anyways..

referring to a company as a data center.. lol.. I’ve had my morning laugh.

Global Crossing. Their world wide network is unmatched.

What inogenius ment im sure was that they were just operators of datacenters.

I knew about he.net and bandwidth but not the nac with there own bandwidth anyway.

Yeah, that's what I meant. And I knew they had pops around the globe, but I don't really consider someone to be a bandwidth provider unless they're providing connections to businesses, datacenters... etc which they may be doing. I don't exactly follow up on all the details of these companies.

according to both companies’ websites, they provide leased lines.

e·lite or é·lite ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-lt, -lt)
n. pl. elite or e·lites

A group or class of persons or a member of such a group or class, enjoying superior intellectual, social, or economic status: “In addition to notions of social equality there was much emphasis on the role of elites and of heroes within them” (Times Literary Supplement).
The best or most skilled members of a group: the football team's elite.
A size of type on a typewriter, equal to 12 characters per linear inch.

I do not see any of us acting elite. You're the one who started with the rude behavior.

I have used UUnet bandwidth which have been great, they have a huge world wide network, good pings and fast connections.

Global Crossing is also good.

I would also mention Telia as a good bandwidth provider.

both UUNET and Global Crossing are fantastic providers, however I’m not quite sure about their viability. If I had to choose one of the above, I’d probably go with Global Crossing. you are more likely to get better pricing from them. last I checked, UUNET is still way up there.

Level3 is another great network. InterNap is also nice if you like the whole "private nap" design.

personally, I’d go with Savvis over InterNap, at least Savvis maintains their own network infrastructure. another key is that Savvis will peer with people (larger folks). I find that InterNap not peering with selective networks is just utterly silly. I don’t expect InterNap to publicaly peer at an exchange point, nor do I expect them to peer with your tipical mom and pop promising local isps. however it’d be nice if InterNap had direct peering relations with networks such as ATDN/AOL, DTAG.de, etc.

Well if we'd have to play favorites I would say Sprint and UUNet :)

we'd all love to have sprint connectivity. now if they could just lower their prices to something more realistic!

both nac and he have pops in several carrier-neutral dcs and will give you a handoff if you ask nicely =]

I'm going to go against everyone else and say cogent. They provide bulk bandwidth at very low prices and its actually pretty decent bandwidth.

Cogent isn't too bad honestly for the price. I'm a big internap and Sprint fan though.
