I havent really had any experience with selling advertising space and was wondering if anyone has some advice,
Im looking to sell advertising space on www.audioscrobbler.com to help raise money for more and better hardware,
It is a site featured on many news sites, e.g. slashdot aswell as being in the Guardian (UK newspaper)

And whenever I visit the site there are always approximately 1000 people browsing,
My questions are:
What is a good price to charge for the advertising space?
Are there any good banner rotation / advertising scripts available, or is it best to code one yourself?

Well Jim, your very last post was meant for the Related Offers forum but back onto the main point:

You seem to have a lot of people on there, even right now there are 700~ people online (guests & members together) which is quite a nice amount, so maybe you could price advertising at the same rate as WHT does theirs??

I'm not sure if you'd want to - but you could always try.
WHT is very expensive but webhosts love advertising here since they know they will more likely get more sales here than elsewhere with the same or more amount of hits that isn't about hosting.


Try and ask in the related offers forum and see there, pricing depends and can range heavily on many things.
If you are aiming at hosting companies, be careful on the prices since they may not be that interested since from what I can tell your site is about music?
