After registering two domain names via webprovider .com and setting up the sites with cgi, one for a client, one for myself. guess what, i try to log in and no user found, this is totally bs. also, immediately after registering, i get an email from another web host offering free dns hosting for a $35 dollar transfer fee.
I have emailed webprovider, totally automated response.dns never resolved to my pages, email never forwarded. very disappointed, after my first impression with cgi and email forwarding, i feel like a chump, What do i do now...? anyone?

Unfortunately you have just fallen victim to a host with shocking reliability, lack of tech support and other niggly problems. I used to host on them and although they were ok for the first few weeks, they started having db troubles and that took them offline for weeks on end.
I suggest you do a WHOIS on NSI or samspade.org and check if the domain is registered in your name. If so, try and get all the relevant administration info if possible from Webprovider (including rego address, method, etc.), then transfer off to another host.
If the domain is registered in Webprovider's name (which shouldn't be, but it's possible), then... You're just in a bit of trouble.
Incidentally, if you're looking for a decent free host with CGI, then netcabins.com, worldzone.net or surecity.com might be worth trying out.
Best of luck, and post a reply here if you need more help!

BC, what is "niggly". I think that I rather like that word and will start using it myself, if you don't mind.
Niggly...cute ring to it.

Mike,
Niggly is Australian slang for 'minor' or intermittent... so niggly is minor/intermittent problems. :D

niggling, niggle - in the english dictionary - troublsome or irritating in a petty way.
Thanks for the definition Rich. At the time of posting I didn't have a dictionary within 1 mile of me ;)
