About Creative Internet Techniques
Creative Internet Techniques (CIT) have been in the hosting industry for over 7 years. We are located in Powell, Ohio and are renowned for our rock-solid networks.
Network Details
Our network can be considered the worlds highest regarded network with respect to physical security, extreme level of firewalling and network availability. Our data centre is completely powered by cisco equipment. The data center has been engineered to avoid any single point of failure in connectivity, power, or HVAC. The technology used in the data center equipment consists of many vendors including Cisco, Nortel, Extreme, Foundry and even custom designed equipment specifically made for use on our network.
The network is running on multiple high speed connections to Qwest's OC-192 backbone and Global Crossings OC-48 SONET. Our network uses quality components from Cisco Systems. The network is connected to the Internet via multi-homed connections to multiple POPs with BGP4 routing for redundancy. Time Warner Telecom provides the primary bandwidth at the moment for our web hosting network with Qwest and Global crossing backup. After our OC48 SONET backbone is in place we will be adding primary private peering with providers such as AT&T, UUNET, SPRINT, QWEST, GBLX, etc.
The data center is physically isolated from everyone but CIT technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden.
We have a backup for every single piece of network equipment ensuring network stability, our power systems in the data center are designed to run uninterrupted even in the unlikely event of a total power outage. All servers are fed with conditioned UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) power that will run if utility power fails. All network equipment within the datacenter have dual power supplies on independant power networks to ensure 100% network uptime.
Support
Support is available through email , AIM, IRC, MSN, yahoo , and phone. Each customer is given an email address for emergency contact should your server go down or you require emergency support which will notify all available network technicians via their pagers. Someone is available 24x7 for free server reboots and remote hands fixing.
Our policy is to give real support to our customers, we will never 'restore' a server should there be a software mis-configuration, we will work to have the problem fixed. If we ever did have to 'restore' a server to it's original configuration, you will have a full backup of your data on a secondary drive. Please remember, we are a managed server supplier, not a dedicated provider.

We are currently offering servers primarily on our web hosting network. (If you do not purchase our DDoS firewall solution, NO IRC ACCESS will be allowed at all. Even hosting irc related web sites, or name servers that host domains used for IRC related purposes is forbidden; This insures the best quality of service for all of our hosting customers. + Our CIR ensures that your server will always be able to send a minimum of 512kbps at any time, no matter what. The line is burstable to 10mbps and your actual usage is not charged, so there is no fee for overages, since there are none!
To put it into simpler terms, there is a big grab bag of bandwidth, say 20mbps of it; There are 30 some servers getting into that grab bag, now the bag gives every server their CIR every time they grab for it, period. Now if there is anything left over in the bag when the server asks for it it give it to the server. The left over bandwidth can range anywhere from 1-20mbps so you have the possiblity of using a full 10mbps (PIR) if it's available in the bag.
No adult content nor IRC is allowed on our CIR plans (firewall purchases will not be accepted).
About 95% Billing
Charges are based on incoming (from customer to internet) 95th percentile 5 minute average samples over 1 month period. 95th percentile takes all the 5 minute average samples and chops off the top 5% and then bills you on the remaining higest sample. This cuts out all the spikes.
