Hi Bob,

We can give you 30GB for 4.95 per month.

We run NT servers but we do support most options found on Unix servers. Unless you need something Unix specific please check this link here. (http://www.datapacket.net/vhosting.htm)

dpnh,

Your packages are too good to be true -- seems taken directly from "how to spot a bad host." But your site looks very professional and a network trace indicate that you have your own NOC. I just don't know how you can defend yourself here... but maybe you don't need to do that.

5.4. Customer agrees to abstain from conduct such as [...] using more then a reasonable amount of bandwidth [...]. Customer's (sic) whose accounts are found in violation of this policy may, at the discretion of DPN, have their account(s) terminated without notice and are subject to a maximum clean-up/disconnection fee of $50.

I wonder what an unreasonable amount of unlimited bandwidth is?

We can give you 30GB for 4.95 per month.

If you can beat the offer do so. Otherwise don't attack our service without merit.

Have a good night guys!

Do you give refunds?
We do not have any active refund policy. However if you can supply a compelling reason to receive and refund it may be granted

And doesn't that make you just feel all warm and fuzzy all over.

Bob, if we can assist you with your hosting needs please let us know.

For you other guys raq collocation is $60 with 100GB. If you find one for 99c let me know.

Our terms are here (http://www.datapacket.net/terms.htm#hosting) and you have quoted the faq correctly.

This is classic.

Bandwidth Restrictions

Although we advertise unlimited bandwidth, we reserve the right to inform you that you must transfer your website if an excessive amount of bandwidth is being used. If the request is not met within 5 days, we do reserve the right to remove the website from our system.

Unless I am reading that wrong. They admit they advertise unlimited bandwidth then say thats not true.

Oh man I am laughing so hard my side hurts. :):):):)

Customer's whose accounts are found in violation of this policy may, at the discretion of DPN, have their account(s) terminated without notice and are subject to a maximum clean-up/disconnection fee of $50.

This would be the only catch.

I'd like to know what a reasonable amount of bandwidth is to clear this up though. Obviousley 30GB is fine... but what isn't?

I will leave this thread as it is. If you two hosts can offer this person something better do so. Attacking us because you can not offer something better only makes you look foolish and rather childish.

If anyone viewing this has a high bandwidth site and needs shared hosting over dedicated let us know.

I am going to jump in here. I have looked at Tera-Byte. I believe it costs $27.50/month for 40 GB. Why is it so inexpensive compared to others like Pair Networks which costs about $130 for 30 GB and Web 2010 which costs about $220 for 25 GB? Both of these are recommended by a shareware organization.

It just mean that Pair and Web2010 are raking more money than Tera-Byte. But DPN's offers are mathematically impossible to make a profit IF ALL THOSE BANDWIDTH ARE USED. There was a discussion of bandwidth costs somewhere here which were full of technical details.. I think it was related to Rackshack's 150 GB offering.

Well, I'm gonna ask that you not attack these guys anymore. I've talked to them through email with very fast response times and they seem to be a good business.

If you have your own OC-12 you are not charged per gig for bandwidth. You can use up to the max of your line capacity, in their case it's over 600MB, so offering a lot of bandwidth is very possible while still making a profit... as long as you have enough customers to pay for all costs and not use the whole line up. That would be a very large amount of customers might I add.

Just saying they are not your average Tacid.

My $.02.

Well your .02 cents might get you a couple GB with them.
