I am looking for a company in BELGIUM that offers Dedicated servers. A company from The Netherlands is also good, but i hope to find one in Belgium that is not to expensive.

I hope there are some Belgian people on this forum:D

Why do you want a dedicated server in Belgium or the Netherlands?

We are located in Amsterdam, but our site is hosted in the USA, because it is so much better in price performance wise :)

No one notices any delay in web site loading if that is what you are afraid for. My recommendation would be to go with a US or UK dedicated server.

the servers dont have to be in belgium or the netherlands.

I live in Belgium so i want to use a dutch company, i think that is easier.

If you don't mind communicating in English with your host and have a credit card to pay, just select any host recommended on this forum.

My experiences with USA based hosts are very positive. I left www.xs4all.nl, because they charge 140 Euro (=$125) per GB/month for additional traffic, which is just outragious. From my local research I found that the others were not much better.

And you pay 0% VAT when you choose a US host :D

This is somewhat the only somewhat affordable company I found (for colo)

http://www.webservers.nl/

Don't even start looking at the Belgian market because it's nearly non-existant, and those that exist cost way more than it's worth.

For dedicated servers your best choice is a US based company.

Well that's because xs4all is very expensive. My co-located webserver is located in A'dam and has
-100 Mbit op Level3
-100 Mbit op GTS/Ebone
-1 Gbit op de AMS-IX
so very fast. My hosting customers pay $10 per GB/month on which i make profit. So you can say that xs4all is very expensive.

Because my server is located in holland the ping times are very low compared to servers in the US. And if there would be a problem with my co-located server i just drive to it, check in, and replace the failing hardware myself. And if you are a registered company you don't have to worry about VAT because they are reductable.

So it you are a dutch based company or Belgium based (because in Belgium there is a lack of infrastructure concerning networks) and your target customers (website visitors) are located in the same countries you can better host in Holland (but not at XS4all).

/me raises his hand: Yep, I live in Holland too :)

May I suggest buying a server and then colocating it ?
If you're any good at hardware you can just put together your own server, so you can be sure it's all quality hardware or you could buy one from, let's say, Dell or so.
For my own, soon-to-launch company I chose this way, because I need FAST servers and from my experience most dedicated servers available are either only 1 GHz or totally unaffordable.
If you choose to go this way, you might want to have a look at TrueServer (http://www.trueserver.nl/), which seems to me a very reliable company. I do not have any servers hosted with them at the moment, but my communications with them have been very smooth so far and I've heard only positive comments on them so far.

Just my two euro-cent :D

You will want to do a search on www.webhosters.nl
It's like the Dutch version of this place, with a search for dedicated servers etc. located in the Netherlands. There are a small hand full of Dutch companies that offer colocation with 100 GB a month for 100 EURO, but I still opted to get a dedicated server in the States, as nothing beats those prices...

I'm wondering myself how people manage to reply on topics that are closed for almost 3 moths now!!

Further more foreigners doesn't have anything to webhosters{SPAM}.nl because, it is in DUTCH.

Next time please watch your posts.

webhosters dot nl is not very much like WHT. there is no real forum and it's not much of a community.
And Starhost: The guy that started this thread is from belgium... so there's a good chance that he knows Dutch.

I didn't remember that the starter was from Belgium. Just because this thread is really and I mean realy old!

that's certainly true... digging up old threads is not a good thing to do ;)

Didn't notice the date on the original post. And why would that qualify as spam? The original post was from a Belgian, thus he would have understood every word on webhosters. I think that means I was trying to help and not spam. I am in no way affiliated with the site I mentioned anyway, it's just that they have a good database with all current Dutch hosts and hosting prices.

I don't think many foreigners would be looking for hosting in the Netherlands anyway, it's simply way too expensive compared with the USA, so why even bother looking. If you're looking for European hosting, I'm sure there are cheaper countries than the Netherlands.

And by saying it's very much like here, I simply meant it's a good place to look for a host, nothing more. I know it doesn't have a community and is nowhere near as fun to use as this place :)

Enough about this totally outdated post anyway, I suggest it gets closed or deleted so we have some room for some new posts :D

Then my final question. How do you manage to reply on a topic which is that old? I my eyes you have to have used the search. Therefore I thought you spammed, just because you just gave the url of Webhosters

I'm from Belgium as well, but can't help you.
But like many said before, you're better off with an US-server.

Edit:sorry to bring up that old topic.

IepHosting is owned by a very very (he is truly a real server expert!) skilled person. I know him, he was a hosting partner of my former boss, and I went with him to TeleCity (Dutch NOC) once and saw him working. Truly amazing of how much he knows of his servers. And he almost lives in TeleCity (where all his servers are) so that won't be a problem too.
By the way, Iephosting.com is for the adult related content, iephosting.net for the normal hosting. You can get a good price from them, and good hardware too!
