![]() | View Full Version : Here is a page listing media speeds from ISDN to OC192 projo 06-05-2001, 12:03 AM http://host-tribune.com/host_start/bandwidth.htm wweebbmmaasstte 06-10-2001, 12:13 AM Nice link. I was always stump when anyone ask me how much my OC192 could do per second. I now can telling them that it is 10gb / sec. mozd3v 06-16-2001, 08:48 AM Your a fool if you think you have an OC192. Thats what the global internet backbone is made of (e.g. UUNet) and unless you run a backbone provider - you sure as hell don't have an OC192. Secondly - most Hosting providers have OC192 connectivity or peering - but there is a MASSIVE difference. I suggest you sort out what your really have. If you don't understand bits/bytes/megabit/megabytes ... then find another job. m0z www.wiretapped.net DHWWnet 06-17-2001, 12:14 AM I think he works for This (http://www.exodus.net) company. I could be wrong though... ServerRackNet 06-26-2001, 03:22 PM Originally posted by mozd3v Your a fool if you think you have an OC192. He's had some newbie questions about webhosting so I doubt he works for Exodus or anyone similar. p.s. The phrase "Your a fool" in an earlier post here makes me laugh :) DHWWnet 06-28-2001, 03:31 AM i think you're right qslack but his IP belongs to exodus.net ? Domenico 06-28-2001, 04:55 AM So, when do you guys think we will have OC192 connectivity or more to our homes? Don't tell me never because that would be the same as Bill Gates saying no one would ever need more then 640kb memory a long time ago ;-) Domenico qslack 07-01-2001, 01:10 AM Originally posted by elijah i think you're right qslack but his IP belongs to exodus.net ? It's actually a SafeWeb IP address, so he could be from anywhere. bteeter 07-03-2001, 10:39 PM Originally posted by Domenico So, when do you guys think we will have OC192 connectivity or more to our homes? Don't tell me never because that would be the same as Bill Gates saying no one would ever need more then 640kb memory a long time ago ;-) Domenico You could have it now if you can afford like $10 million per month. Of course, you could only pipe 1/10th of that through your home 1000-base T Network. :-) Take care, Brian mozd3v 07-03-2001, 10:52 PM Sorry to come across like I did - but I get sick of people going on about 'all they have' and using technical terms they have no idea about... and other such shiznit. If people would use www.whatis.com more often - and figure out what they're saying before they do - the world would be a better please. <quote>Dude, I have a duel Pentium III 1Ghz running WinME! Its heaps' fast.</quote> He is also a fool. A very foolish fool. Does he not know that ME does NOT do asyncronious processing - NT5/Pro does, NT4/Wks does (which kit). No, ME does not. Anyway, sorry for my retaliation shiz.... bleh. m00. Anyway, enjoy life, enjoy bandwidth and most of all - enjoy each other. moz. irc.d3vbox.com #2600 #coffee |
