Disgusting vandals... the police gave this stupid excuse for not making any arrests. The idiots who burned this 9/11 memorial should be locked up and the key should be flushed down the toliet. I am deeply disgusted.

These people are the worst of society and deserve no place in deficating and ruining memorials with their lies.

This was a memorial for goodness sakes, to honor the lives of two thousand+.

Police chief: "The first call we got on this was at 3 p.m Saturday. There were these cups stuck in the fence that spelled out something like 'We Love The USA,' and a woman was rearranging them to read something like 'No War.' She was not burning or tearing up anything at that time.'

Since the woman was not destroying anything, officers left without making an arrest or writing a police report.

Kies said his officers were called to the scene again at 5 p.m. Saturday and again at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Officers found damage to the display on both occasions but found no one but Tracey Chandler , who maintains the patriotic fence, and her friends near the location.

"On vandalism, a misdemeanor offense, we can't arrest anyone unless it happens in front of us."


I don't know any group more supportive of 9/11 victims than cops, for obvious reasons, and I can't imagine any cop wouldn't have wanted to do something about someone actually damaging such a memorial. At least here in NY, and I can't imagine California cops are so different.

It is good though the police are investigating.
