TechnoHosts 06-04-2001, 04:09 PM Hey All Other Hosts,
This is Technohosts.com. I will be attending the Web Hosting Expo in Washington DC, and will also have a booth! I was curious to know if any other hosts will be in attendance, as I would love to meet with you.
cbaker17 06-04-2001, 04:35 PM I will be attending and will have a keg stand, whos booth do you think will generate the most traffic :) jjk
looking forward to seeing you there, by the way what did your booth cost and what kind is it.
dherman76 06-04-2001, 04:37 PM I won't have a booth but am thinking of coming...How much do you think it will cost?
TechnoHosts 06-04-2001, 04:49 PM The expo costs 400$ for full package w/ all meetings. The booths are charged by square foot. I think they have a website somewhere.

Wow! An opportunity to pay to actually hear Chris Faulkner speak, instead of having to only read that rah-rah "the customer is always first at *****" stuff in every "independant" internet industry-related magazine! How could I miss that?
I'll probably find a way...
cbaker17 06-04-2001, 05:43 PM Its not 399.00 anymore it just went up to 499.00
jayglate 06-04-2001, 05:46 PM I don't care I don't have to pay for it

Just leave the weapons at home, they'll probably have metal detectors and bomb-sniffing dogs.

hit the guy from ***** with an egg how about we tar him and toss feathers on him how about we.... take his cell phone Hey, all kinds of possible approaches; choose whatever one you like. For me, it's this: I don't buy magazines that pile praise upon the Faulkners of the world simply because they are big and have lots of advertising dollars to spend, I don't patronize host directories or similar places that have the same approach, and I won't pay -- or have my company pay -- hundreds of dollars for a seminar that has chosen to honor him as a keynote speaker and at which the attendees will be expected to be in awe of the guy because of his "success" and at which he'll be held up as someone to pattern yourself after simply by virtue of how his company's marketing success has overcome its technical and customer service shortcomings.
But yeah, you guys can throw eggs and stuff, if that works for you.
James Cross 07-30-2001, 12:05 PM We'll be there, if anyone feels like a few beers :)
PS: I here that Chris Falkner has pulled out of speaking :bawling: I wonder why?
I would go, but I don't have the cash to attend.... since I'd have to fly out there....
CWIhosting 07-30-2001, 03:10 PM If Chris Falkner speaks, I think fellow hosting people will continually interject, and start asking him some “real” questions. Would be interesting.
creid 07-30-2001, 05:18 PM Aint got the money either!:bawling:

Seriously, I don't think the post in this thread is the reason in spite of its potential offensiveness. If you do a search for californian's posts you'll find that most of the recent ones apparently violated the forum rules -- I'd assume through some advertisement, but I didn't see them.
