Hi, I have a client how use to host with silverserver, since silverserver close they doors, my client can make change to his domain. the domain was registered in opensrs and my client never got the login and password for the control panel.
He talk with the support of opensrs and they told him that they can't give he the login and password, that this must be sended by the reseller (silverserver) but they are close!!
How can I solve this? anyone have any Idea?

OpenSRS support should be able to use the e-mail password fuction for you. As long as the admin contact e-mail on the domain is valid it shouldn't be a problem.

Normally the RSP (reseller) should do this, but explain to OpenSRS support that they're no longer around.

I tell them that.
But they say that opensrs must contact the reseller (silverserver in this case) or transfer the domain to another reseller .
And I don't want to be a Opensrs reseller I don't want to pay $500 to become a reseller.
My client is the admin contact as I see in the whois.
This is too weird.

Try calling them 1-800-371-6992 and asking to speak to a manager. In general, I've found their support very helpful. It seems they don't want to usurp the authority of the reseller (which is understandable and is specified in the OpenSRS contract), but since the reseller is no longer in business, the contract is broken.

It's really very simple. If you are listed as the registrant, all you need to do is fax a letter to OpenSRS requesting they move your domain(s) to another RSP. You don't even need to give a reason. Note that the new RSP has to respond accepting the transfer.

I just did this recently on behalf of one of my clients and know it to be true.

Sorry Duster, but with RSP do you mean OpenSRS Reseller?
Because I'm not a OpenSRS reseller. :(

RSP is a Registered Service Provider. They are not resellers. All your client has to do is what I said above. You don't have to be an RSP and really have nothing to do with it other than helping your client by advising on the procedure to a solution.
