Hey guys, I've been lurking a little while, and decided what the hell, I'll join the newbie posting crowd :stickout:
I had purchased the Gold Reseller account with ******.com in November 2002 on advice of an acquaintance. He said that the company had just been bought out and that they were looking for resellers to rebuild their business. I planned on taking a former fan site I ran "commercial" and covering more than one game. I also had a plan to resell turnkey sites to gamers. Firstly, the domain name *never* propagated. Around Christmastime, I lost the rights to the name I was using, and filed a tech request to have another name point to my account the first week in January. By the end of January, the ******.com website was down "rebuilding", and on the 2nd of February, both my site and ****** ceased to exist. The Better Business Bureau reports that mail sent to the address listed in whois is returned by the Post Office, and my state Dept of Consumer Services has forwarded the case to the FCC Internet division. I doubt I"ll see an of my $180 again
Anyway, I am looking for a reseller that I can trust, one that will give me enough bandwidth and space to offer file downloads and messageboards for me, and messageboards for my customers. I've never resold before, so I've been reading up on the hints and tips in the forums. I was downsized from my IT job in October, so money is tight. I can't afford $50 a month right now. I guess what I am looking for is a place that offers a little more than say, what Lunarpages does for regular accounts, for $20 a month or so, and has reasonable plans that I can upgrade to as business (hopefully) gets bigger.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks!
(er, the name of the "host" that I was using was censored? Did I miss something in the posting rules?)
