First let me say that I don't know anything about hosting but I'll try to explain what I think I'll need.I will be building a catalog with eventually hundreds of products and have decided that miva merchant is the right catalog/cart to be included with hosting.Also a host with merchant services partners would be helpful.I need smtp from my own domain,upgrade plans for bandwidth growth,low setup fees,trial period,no minimum commitment,reasonably priced add-ons,comprehensive intuitive control panel,24 hr. support,dedicated IP,linux server,mailing lists, database,default e-mail and good online tutorials.The host should not overcrowd servers,not host adult sites,actually know and understand their hardware and software, not be running anywhere near their bandwidth limit at the noc,and give me room to grow without rediculous prices for extra data transfer.I don't care if the host is a reseller or not as long as they know their stuff.And I don't want to be shut down for generating traffic.In short I need turnkey e-commerce with flexibility,reliability,security,integrity,support and good reputation.And I'm willing to pay what it's worth. Hosts that I have under consideration are valueweb,verio,hostway,olm and dreamhost but all fall short in some way and I need input from anyone who has experience with these companies. Any and all advice or offers are gratefully accepted and considered.Thanx.
