Hello,
Here are 2 reasons I would stay away from them...
1) They spam!
2) They appear to run on Raq3 servers. While Raq3 servers are not bad in themselves (I have one) they should not be used for a hosting company. Just wait until the drive fails and they try to restore your site and the server from backups (if they even do).

Presently our webpage is with ISP provider and run by @home. Wish to set up own domain name for control. Needs are simple site is used to display art work. Saw an add in local (Toronto) computor paper for http://www.dollarhost.com/WebHosting/
who offer $5.00 per month and $15.00 registration charge. Has anyone any experience or thoughts? What questions or concerns should I have?

Hey scott, what is the issue there? I have one as well. If you do weekly tape backups what would be the problem?

Chicken,
There are two main problems... First, if you use the backup utility built into the Raq3 then you are basically SOL if the drive fails. The backups have never worked right on the Raq's. If you just tar up the files then you are a lot better off. But most importantly is the GUI and it's data. The data can be easily restored to normal but good luck trying to get it in sync with the GUI. Most likely, you will have to re-setup every site and user by hand.
I had the unfortunate experience of a drive failing a few weeks ago. Though I was able to recover all the data, the GUI was shot and had to be setup by hand. Not a big problem if you have a few sites but if you run a hosting company off it then you are really in trouble. I even tried to have Cobalt recover the GUI info and they couldn't.

Ouch, yeah that would suck bigtime.

BTW,
Cobalt has some kind of utility to recover a corrupted database (wich backs the GUI) so if your system info is correct on the box, you can re-create everything from it with this script. I know I used it once :)

Félix,
For the Raq3 or the Raq2? We were only able to find this available for the Raq2. If you know were to find it for the Raq3 we would love to know.
