RobTheGolfer 03-09-2003, 05:22 PM I am looking for an established company. Someone like bobcares. Leif 03-09-2003, 05:36 PM I'd post a project on Elance.com stating exactly what you need, and wait for some bids to come in. Acronym BOY 03-09-2003, 05:42 PM My server is fully managed so I don't have to worry about that sort of thing. Lets me sleep at night. zerph 03-09-2003, 05:45 PM Originally posted by mswordman I send it over to my Unix Admin, he does the work, and he gets $5 for every hour he actually has to work, not a formal job, but he get's his money. Wow mcdonalds pays more then that. Andrew 03-09-2003, 05:48 PM Originally posted by zerph Wow mcdonalds pays more then that. Well, considering that most 'linux admins' these days have about the same linux knowledge as your average McDonalds employee, is it really so surprising? :stickout: DkAir 03-10-2003, 02:48 AM If you need someone who really takes care of you and has very good rates I suggest you visit Gpan over at cheetaweb.com. They did a server setup for me that went very well. Updated everything to the latest and greastest. Esr Tek 03-10-2003, 09:42 AM I have a sys admin.. I found him here (on WHT) and he is very reliable and trust worthy. The cost's is minimal and as I explained to him he really only needs to do anything if I have a issue or need new software or kernel updates. He also helps show me what he's doing :) Now that my NOC support is pickin up, I probably only use my admin to help in downtime issues. okihost 03-10-2003, 09:56 AM I do most everything myself that I can but if I get stumped I have 2-3 good admins which one is usually available no matter what time it is.. They range from $65-$85/hr. depending on who and what they are doing, but the most important thing is making sure you know that they know their stuff.. and not just think they do.. hell I have seen people here at WHT posting looking for a tech support position but don't even know how to FTP there own site. AcuNett 03-10-2003, 10:15 AM Any of these companies / admins work at night here in the US? TheMMIz 03-10-2003, 11:31 AM AcuNett, I know that MotleyFool does this kind of work, and he's working for Tina (AffordableHost) and a few others. That might be one option, I know its pretty affordable. |
