View Full Version : Paysystems vs 2CO?

Hello!

:spiny:

My hosting company has been in business for 3+ years now, but only really doing anything this past year. About 6 months ago, I lost my merchant account due to excessive chargebacks (I got it back with a heft hold-back deposit). Anyway, at that time, I joined HostCharge and 2CO. Once I had my merchant account back in service, I decided to process all of my new users on one of the 3rd party processors. I don't need to mention what has happened with HostCharge - they owe me upwards of $1000. I never really got to use 2CO, but this past month I have been reading a lot of bad things about em. So, I decided to do a search for paysystems and found out that some people had problems with them too. It seems that the overall feeling is that they may have some bugs here and there, but are the best processor. Does anyone have an opinion which one would be better? Or, any suggestions for other 3rd party processors?

Also, I noticed that many 3rd party processors don't allow the merchant to key in the transactions. I want to make sure that I have my users' billing info in case I ever need to change the billing processor. How do members like this accomplish this? I thought of having my new clients fill out a form on my site, which emails me the signup info and I could just key it in to my shopping cart page of the 3rd party processor, but I wonder whether this is a violation of their TOS. Besides, I would rather that the transactions be automated - I don't automate the hosting end, but would like to with the billing end.

AHHHH!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
:dunce:

Thanks in advance!

Paysystems has been very reliable for payments (to me, at least) for the past 3 years.

That being said, their new payment pages are very unprofessional looking, and IMHO very confusing-looking to the customer.

Thanks for the reply, AM. I know this has been covered a lot, but I still cant really seem to pick which one to use. I have the 2CO account, so I may just use it.

No problems getting your money?

Never a problem getting the money. It's there every Friday without fail (except xmas). Right now. the issue is seeing new orders and getting payment notifications 4 days later. Saying that, I think we are up to 24 hours late on those notifications now.

We briefly looked into 2 checkout before signing with HC. What a time that was! When we left HC in mid-October we were looking around...again we approached 2CO and received no replies to our inquiry emails...again. That was the reason we didn't use them in the beginning. How on Earth can you ignore an email from a person that wants to give you their business? I swear. Anyhow we went with revecom.com which is Paysystems. We have never had any problems getting our money. None. Been with them for almost 8 months. They are reliable in that sense. I wish that their customer support was a little quicker, but no major gripes here. Yet.

I personally like 2checkout, mainly because of the customization they allow you to do with there order form (IE header & footer). It brings anoter level of professionalism to your website.

Paysystems pretty much just lets you stick a little logo on there crappy looking form.

haven't had probs with 2checkout only complaint I have is that I hate waiting for the 1st and 16th of each month when I have to pay bills, it's a pain, but all the options are wonderful for 2checkout.

We are just waiting patiently for the day we can get our own merchant processing account.
