Hi

I want to add additional ip address to a webserver that has only got one network card. it is part of a network and gets its current static ip address from DHCP
the network and the web server are all running WIN2K

Cheers

I believe you right click on network neighborhood and select properties, then select your tcp/ip adapter, and go through the properties and various tabs, somehwree in there theres a palce to assign as many ip's to your card asw you want.

John I'm a little confused if the ip address it gets from the dhcp server is static then why not just bind it to the card. I dont think that you can assign ip addresses to the card if it is set for dhcp. All you need to do is click on the advanced tap of the tcp/ip properties of the card you are looking at.

If DHCP assigns the IPs, I don't think you can add your own.

Go to network settings under the lan properties click tcp/ip > advanced > add ip > add them along with the subnet > you can add as many as you like.

But only if you're not using DHCP !
