Well, I just watched both Pearl Habour and Shrek, and both were worth their ticket price. Having said that, it's still been a long time since a movie has blown my mind away (Terminator 2, BraveHeart, Tarzan etc...)

What upcoming new movies are you looking forward to watching? I saw the trailer of the Planet of the Apes remake on big screen, and it looked very cool indeed (anyone else seen the trailer?). Other than that, perhaps that new street racing movie (can't remember the name, coming out June I believe).

p.s: Here is the official site of the POTA: http://www.planetoftheapes.com/

From some people i've heard the movie is good, and others that its not so good. It only cleared about 1/5th of what jarrassic park cleared in its first week, and ticket prices where half the prices then in the box office. However I think there is nothing better then a good War movie. ("Good war movie" Has to be something wrong with that comment) If anyone has anymore comments on Pearl Harbour, please post them. Would be interesting to see what everyone else thinks.

I'm waiting for Final Fantasy myself. Love the games, and the 3d used in the teasers make me envy those that can bring characters to life like that. I want to see Evolution as well. I need a good comedy, and if they manage to surpass Scary Movie and Dude, where's my car (which has to be the easiest thing in the world to do), I'll be forced to get it on dvd. Plus it has an old MadTV comedian in it (now more famous for the 7-up commercials).

I thought Shrek was poorly acted, poorly written and a total waste of money.

Sorry.

I'd have to say the Lord of the Rings... waiting ever patiently, and still six months to go!

Quotes by Jonathan Ross taken from 'The Mirror' newpaper's 'the A-list' magazine Friday 1st June 2K1.

"Pearl Harbor is a lousy, embarrassing and depressing movie. It fails on just about every level. The script is awful to the extent that the audience I saw the film with laughed at the many dire cliches and dreadful plot twists as they rolled out. The cinematography is horribly over the top, with every frame looking like it was painted by Norman Rockwell for the cover of the Saturday Evening Post. The acting is heavy-handed as well, but for that we can blame director Micheal Bay, who is far too interested in showing how exciting the slaughter of thousands of men, women and children can be to be bothered with little things such as character and plot."

"I actually felt ashamed that this film had been made. Just out of respect to the thousands who died, you hoped they might have thought about what they were doing. Showing the battle would have been excusable if the film-makers had something to say about the event....or war in general..... Or history, or death, or love....or anything. But no, it is presented without any intelligence or reason. It's just there."

"I suspect that this movie will stand as a testament to lousy film-making, just as the original attack on Pearl Harbor still makes decent men and women consider the folly of war - rather than think about turning it into film fluff to make money. It's a sickening example of cynical greed and, worse than that, it's an unremarkable action film and an unbelievable and uninvolving love story. And for the money it cost, that really is a sin."

I have seen the movie, and really don't have any good comments about it other then the special effects. I wouldn't see it again.

Cheers

If you want to see a better movie, go find "Tora! Tora! Tora"

Ohhhh no! I really wanted to see this one :(

I realize and that one might hate it, while another thinks it is the best movie ever made, but... hmmmm. thewitt (asied from his old sock problem), seems to be a witty guy and I wonder if you like other Mike Meyers movies (dislikes him in general?), or if you just thought he was a dud in this one? I guess I'm assuming that if you are a fan of Mike Myers you'll like this somewhat. Ahhhhhh.. crap... I was gonna see it today. Hmmm.

This was the best pg or g rated movie Ive seen in quite awhile.
Being a mom....the public schools here tend to show movies during school-time....some that were quite questionable, but? wish they would have shown this one.

Everyone should watch this movie..and pass it on....orrrr
PAY IT FORWARD :D

Don't not see it on my account Chicken :)

I do like Mike Meyers, and I like Eddie Murphy and even Cameron Diaz. I think this might have been part of the problem.

Unlike Perl Harbor, where my expectations had been lowered by the hype, my expectations for Shrek were very high.

It just could have been done so much better in my opinion. I was looking for a Classic and what I found was a cheesy Saturday morning cartoon, with enough adult comedy references that my kids didn't understand half of the jokes.

They enjoyed it, but have no interest in buying it when it comes out on video...

I've seen Moulin Rouge. It was a strange movie, but the soundtrack was pretty cool :D

I'm not one for musicals, so thought I wouldn't enjoy it much at all, but it's actually quite good.

There's only one movie I'm waiting anxiously for right now-the Matrix 2.

Pay it Forward was good, but sad. :( I want to see the Matrix 2 too. I hope it has a good plot to it. Can't imagine what they're going to pull out of their hat.

The most recent movie that's similar to Shrek is Chicken Run. Compared to that movie, Shrek is many times better (in my opinion). If you liked the chickens, you'll love the Shrek :)

I want to see Laura something-or-another in the upcoming movie by the same or different name. It derives from
a video game.

I saw the preview but can not remember what attracted me to it. There were a couple of reasons though.

Any comments about Jurassic Park III? I've seen the trailer, it goes something like.. "they're back.. they're meaner.. ther're smarter then ever.."

My enthusiasm for Jurassic Park took a nose dive after watching Jurassic Park II.

Quick note - it's "Lara Croft".
