I just signed up with Site5's shared hosting plan yesterday and they haven't contacted me yet. Anyone know how long it usually takes? I'd like to get my site up as soon as possible. Glad to finally get rid of *****.

But you caught them while they're updgrading a system and transferring quite a few customers over to a new server. Give it a little more time. Lonewolf 06-01-2001, 05:21 PM I signed up with them and the sevice has been great. give them a litle time, they are in the progress of moving alot of customers oover to thier newest server and should contact you soon... there great, good choice... :D :D :D bigmattyh 06-01-2001, 08:25 PM I have to ditto this. I've had great service from them thus far. :) Damage 06-02-2001, 12:49 AM Ok, I got my account activated, but I'm a little stumped. The technical contact for my domain was ***** and I don't know how to update that info. It's handled by Network Solutions and their online forms are confusing. bigmattyh 06-02-2001, 01:47 AM I've been in that situation before with NS. If NS has given you your account name, there's a login feature there to go in and change your info. If you don't have this info, you have to call them during business hours and ask them for your account name and password. Damage 06-02-2001, 02:13 AM My domain has been registered for awhile now. I just need to know the steps to change that info. Brian Farkas 06-02-2001, 02:48 AM Damage- You can make changes via the following URL: http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/makechanges/ Simply enter your domain name into the account management helper and click GO. In the first pulldown box, select "Transfer my domain name to another ISP" Then, in the technical contact field, delete the old contact to either "same as administrative contact" or create a new technical contact. If Site5 gave you their contact number, you can also input this in the tech contact box. Then, just submit the form and reply to the email it generates. Good luck! Brian Farkas Damage 06-02-2001, 04:00 AM I was using the "Modify a Host" form. Guess that's why it didn't seem right. . daydreamer 06-02-2001, 08:32 AM Try this one... http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/makechanges/domain.mod dd |
