View Full Version : NetSol trouble

I have an reseller account with the DNS/BIND option at OLM (its an RSE account).

I have setup the DNS over a month ago.

However Network Solutions refuses to recongnize it. If my clients registered their domain name with NameRegistrars (or anyone besides NetSol I imagine) I have no trouble.

However if my clients registered their domain with NetSol they cannot update their nameservers to use my nameservers and IP.

If I try to add the name servers at NetSol I eventually receive an email stating:

"We have received your request to register or modify a host record. However, we are unable to process it at this time because we cannot verify its authenticity.

We have sent an e-mail notification message to Guardians for this host and the domain name where the host resides, asking for their approval or disapproval of the change you have asked for. We will
follow the first set of instructions we receive. "

and I never hear anything else.

Has anyone successfully done this?

If not, what do you do with your customers that registered with NetSol?

its a pain... but you have to call NetSol and talk to their phone people. make sure you have the NIC tracking numbers ready ... its emailed to you when you submit the host record modification form.

you might have to call them 4-100 times to get everything just as you would want them...

i had them add a host record using only 2 phone calls (miracle) but modifying the host record was another story... so far 7 calls and only the first host record was correctly changed while the second still remains unfixed... im too tired to call em again right now, i guess ill wait until i really need to change them...

good luck!

A phone call to NetSol can be as pleasant or unpleasant as you make it. (I've tried both ways).

I can tell you from my experience that sooner or later you can expect a hitch somewhere in dealing with them.

I get the best results when I call them up and treat the clerk like a human. (You know they probably have had several rotten callers before you). I always try to be polite and address the person with their first name. Something like: "Hey John, can you tell me where I am going wrong with this host modification? ...".

You get a lot further if you don't start off the call telling them that they have done something wrong. (even if they have)

The name of this game is to achieve your objective. If you have to blow some sunshine to get there...

Anyway, just passing on my two cents.

I searched NetSol's site and it looks like they have removed the phone numbers (or did I over look it).

Anyway, I submitted a support request via email on their site over 2 weeks ago.

Any idea how long they usually take?:bawling:

Don't think I'd wait another minute on their support request via email.

Here's the numbers that I use:
(703) 742-4777
(800) 779-1710

Well . . .

It's taken 7 calls . . .

and two days later . . .

1 of my nameservers is now in available by NetSol!!!

WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!:cartman:

1 down and 1 to go!!!!!

(If anyone else is having similar trouble it really does matter who you speak to. The first 2 technicians told me NetSol would never allow my nameservers because they are not registered with NetSol!)
