is gone? :bawling: or is ti just temporary?

I don't know, but it also disappeared the other day too.

It takes more bandwidth to request a new page and serve all this fancy JScript crap with tons of gifs than a quick reply, it's also more annoying to have to click the button :(

Disabling JavaScript doesn't take away the fact that all the code is going to be in the file (longer download) and all the buttons/etc will be on the page.

SpiritAu: The quick reply for me still does not show up.

Quick reply should always be there unless you're not logged in. It's a static feature.

Maybe there's a cookie problem them.

I was chatting with someone yesterday, and in the middle of it, they said that Quick Reply left.

Of course, it was there for me.

I bet it was related to the server switch, but should always be there now.

It's still there for me though I use the old style.

It's there now, but no quick smilies.

I also am not recieving any emails that people reply. I get one or two out of tons of replies.

Also, I noticed this earlier, I was some how un-subscribed from over 60 threads....

Something has been wierd here since the other day.

The quick smilies have been removed for a while, as they caused delays in loading every thread. If you're not receiving mail it'd have to be caused by rejection on your mail server, I'm watching the maillogs and watching it flow out of the wht servers like water. Swapping the server wouldn't have had any bearing for subscriptions either, that's all kept in sql, which hasnt been touched.

When checking for your address in the logs I saw this:

Mar 6 13:51:31 pantherx1 sendmail[22545]: h26JpVd22545: from=whtalk, size=885, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200303061951.h26JpVd22545@pantherx3.webhostingtalk.com>, relay=whtalk@localhost
Mar 6 13:51:33 pantherx1 sendmail[22544]: h26JpVJ22541: to=Bryan@xxx.net, ctladdr=whtalk (502/502), delay=00:00:02, xdelay=00:00:02, mailer=esmtp, pri=30888, relay=xxx. [xxx], dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown

It's not really coming and going :) I just added it to the new server.

WebDev: I am on the old WHT style (I use dialup... but the new layout is great just too slow for me). The smilies were here yesterday, gone now though.

I seem to get some replies, but not many. Maybe quick reply does not auto-subscribe you... not sure.

I did get an email from 'root@panther1.webhostingtalk.com' that said 'test...' and I do get some replies, just some do not come in.

I dont believe quick reply subscribes you to threads., it never has for me. We disabled quickie smilies when we moved to the new design so I'm not putting it in on the new servers at all, probably why it disappeared for you.

Heh, they're back now... go figure :)

It's not that I use them much (hell, I come here so much I know the :bbcode: by heart :o) -- it's more like they're here, then they're not, so it's kinda freaky :stickout:

I'm recieving mails now to threads I reply to ... seems to of fixed it self. :)

Is there anyway we could get an option in the usercp to make quick reply subscribe us to the thread automatically?

Testing here....I know one forum only (so far) that I don't get an email notification from quick reply. Let's see with this one :)

Used to but the code shows it off:

<input type="hidden" name="email" value=""> ('yes' would subscribe)
