I think I read a while back that there was sites that listed hosting companies and thats a lot of you get most of your trafffic, am I correct.

If so can I get some urls to these sites please?

I know there was a thread a little while back on this, but I couldn't find it.

A good place to start is Yahoo's listing of directories:

Someone should standardize all these sites so a host doesn't have to submit themselves 500 times. I know we've only setup listings at maybe 5 sites at most.

You made it sound like those weren't enough. ;)

Personally, we've had little luck with most host directories. There's simply soooooo many people listed with ridiculous prices (Good old 2GB space + unlimited bandwidth for $20/yr!).

Those are only the directories that driven the more succesful requests in webalizer. But it's worth it adding your site to all, even if it only give you one lead.

Its worth to list yourself an many place as possible... since it is one time effort in most cases. The more regular updates may help users to beleive that you are an active host.

You defanately want to list in as many as you have time for. If your looking for customers...
Even if only getting 1 sale a month from them - if you listed to 3 or 400.. numbers game again. It works if you work it.

Have fun. It is boring but worth it in the long run.
