Anyone know where I can find a cron tutorial that is applicable to the RaQ 4i?

I have a unix administration book, but I'm not finding what I need. I've been trying to get cron to run a perl script daily(reads and writes from a file as well as sending mail.), but can't get it to work. I am fairly sure I'm making this harder than it really is.

Anyone have any suggestions?
