I'm considering several companies and one is Dathorn Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks.

JPC

P.S. Had to post this topic in this manner. Thought I'd get a better response.

Been with dathorn for almsot a month.. so far so good. We decided to go with Dathorn because of the excellent communication.

Basically, if something goes wrong, I need to know what's wrong and what's being done to fix/prevent it so I can pass that info on to my clients. See http://forums.dathorn.com

Do you, by chance, know what they're using for mailing list management?

Mailman.

Edit: Looks like you're going to have to wait a bit..

3/1/2003 - We are not accepting any new customers while we upgrade our customer control panel, trouble ticket system, and billing system. This could take a couple of weeks to complete at least. In the end, though, it will make our services just that much better and easier to use.

The wait for them won't be a problem. I don't like the look of Mailman. I'd rather use Major Domo.

So far, I'm taking a liking to okihost.com.

jpc,

I am a Dathorn customer. I don't like the look of mailman either, but keep in mind that with cgi, php, and MySQL behind you, you can install anything you wish ;-) And don't worry about not having the technical know-how, both Dathorn AND the people on the forum are very helpful, and between them they'll either walk you through an install or perhaps even install it for you.

I am completely thrilled with Dathorn and I have 12 years experience on line. Don't let something as silly as what they may have "pre-installed" taint your opinion of them as a host provider.

I've been with dathorn for 3 months and 21 days, excellent support with no problems. Best host I've been with.

Because of the combination of features I was looking for, I ended up deciding to learn how to use Mailman. I've found a new reseller host and picked up Mailman rather easily, so I'm all set for now.

I went with RFHost and was extremely pleased with their pre-sales interactivity and their support thus far.
