hi :)
I did just get an email from a guy, asking if I'd be interested in selling or leasing one of my domains.
Question: does smbdy of you have experience with contracts and policies for this (lease / sale domain)?
I'm going to be rich!!!! I'll get $10 per month *lol*
thanks,

This is an interesting but risky concept .
Some time back, one of our clients forgot to renew a domain and lost it.
The chap who bought it promptly put it up for sale.
We wanted it for a short while and he offered to let us use it for a few weeks free of charge.
Of course there are risks. The lessee will be at the mercy of the person who owns the domain
and it may also work the other way if the lessee misuses the domain name or spams etc.
Not all domains will be suitable for rent too.
Make sure it's not just a 'Domain Brokerage' canvassing for business, who will ask you for a fee to offer this to their client base... this has happened to me...
Never been lucky enough to have a real one of these though... :(

I was just thinking the same....
spamming/illegal content on my domain. What do you think, ... would a good contract help me to be ok for the registrar, too (so that if this guy spams I'll not lose my domain)?
Or would you prefer selling it... get the money... and adios? :)
cheers again,
tortellini

*lol* i was thinking the same... did you get a request from a company called: www.makeme**************.com?
;)
thanks,

Heh heh heh... no, I don't recognise that domain... I can't quite remember which company it was, but it was a sleazy attempt which sucked me in for a short while... :D
I'm definitely having pasta for dinner now, with some nice chianti... your signature made me hungry...

When you get a valid inquiry with regard to leasing or selling one of your domains, in your mind think if it will appreciate in value over time, if so, lease it. If it's a domain that you could care less about either way, sell it. When I was selling domains, I used to get asked the same questions; how much to buy and how much would it be to lease.
