We have used GISOL.COM as our server since last December, already twice serious server failure happened. Both they need use backup to recover the whole server data. But the second time was terrible, they said:

"There was an unrecoverable hard drive failure on both the primary and backup drives. These drives have been replaced. Account data has been restored from an older backup. Unfortunately any changes which had been made on this server in the last four weeks have been lost."

We lost total four weeks user data and emails. The hardware parts do have problem some times, but two drives have same problem in the same time is unbelievable.

We don't recommend GISOL.COM.

Hardware failure is part and parcel of things, and frankly is hard to prevent.

However 4 weeks of data means that they don't really backup frequently. Definitely a point to ponder over. Other than that, it's not that bad.

Stay away from GISOL.com A.S.A.P.....not only the downtime and bad service but also the money issue... search the GISOL in the thread then go to GISOL.org to find out what happen ..be careful, never replied their account for FREE DOMAIN...Because you are not the Owner.. The GISOL own your domain...

GISOL.com is the worstest host I ever never go with them ...

Gisol.com does not have a good reputation on WHT.

People should see a red flag when a hosting provider is offering 45 gigs of bandwidth for $7.95 per month. 85 gigs for $14.95 per month.

If it sounds to good to be true...

Plus two hard drives failing at the same time...while possible is very unlikely. Sounds like someone is blowing sunshine up your skirt to me.

Acccccccccccccch, laddie, it isn't a skirt, it's a kilt, ya silk-wearing buttercup!

Actually, I've heard of this happening once before with a client of mine. Both of the SCSI drives on his server went. The reason? Both of the drives and the SCSI controller card were refurbished and resold as new. Just a thought as to why what happened did happen and why it may well happen again unless you 1) switch hosts and 2) do your own backups.

Well it just happened at phpwebhosting.com. One hobby site I have there got all the data lost (they are running raid rebuild process now) because both harddisk on the server I am on went up in smoke. So it's not really impossible, unless the whole world is a lying ******* :D
