SoftWareRevue 03-01-2003, 05:20 PM Depends on the month. RobTheGolfer 03-01-2003, 05:21 PM What does it depend on? Holidays, etc? SoftWareRevue 03-01-2003, 05:28 PM We had a big blitz planned for the first of the year. It was to play in concert with our new site. It got delayed when the site wasn't finished. So we just played some smaller gigs. Site's still not finished. :( Maybe this week though. MCHost-Marc 03-01-2003, 06:15 PM How much do you spend on advertising? RobTheGolfer 03-01-2003, 06:42 PM It varies month to month. And you Kiwi? zeus 03-02-2003, 09:48 PM Woo, I guess it all depends on your business, your budget, and how much you yourselve want to spend for advertisement. Believe me, if you got a million dollars that you want to spend for ads, you can, it isn't a myth, its real. The only thing you can compare money for ads to is ram for windows... Travis pattox 03-03-2003, 03:10 AM Ive been considering a number of places to advertise, We use to advertise on a developers site thats now closed but i think when your thinking about spending $500+ on a campaign, you have the right to be "curious" if the webmaster is correct on the analytics. :) Aussie Bob 03-03-2003, 03:20 AM Originally posted by Rob_AcuNett How much does your business spend monthly on advertising? Zip - zero - nada - nothing. :) Quite content to just let the client base grow organically, rather than flush $$$$ down the drain with ad compaigns that generally bring limited ROI on the ad_$$. I'm not against advertising to expand the client base. Maybe you invest 20% of your monthly revenue into customer acquisition. I just personally like slow natural organic growth. :) pattox 03-03-2003, 03:24 AM I agree with you Bob, With a company like httpme.com everyone is talking about it, and word of mouth is ALWAYS the best advertising. Who do you trust more, a banner? or a friend ? ;) zoli 03-03-2003, 05:56 AM Bob, but you advertised when you started httpme.com right? How much did you spend monthly? How long? tandem 03-03-2003, 11:51 AM Originally posted by Aussie Bob Zip - zero - nada - nothing. :) You need a special kind of luck to keep on selling a product that has virtually zip - zero - nada unique selling points without advertising. NovaW 03-03-2003, 02:19 PM You need a special kind of luck to keep on selling a product that has virtually zip - zero - nada unique selling points without advertising. Luck doesn't come into it. The product is really a service - not a product. If there is a big enough customer base and the customer base is loyal enough they will tell others. It's a great place to be at & doesn't happen by luck or accident. tandem 03-03-2003, 06:25 PM Originally posted by NovaW Luck doesn't come into it. The product is really a service - not a product. I know luck doesn't come to it... I was just trying to get a reaction to my statement. :D The customer support side is a service. And the more you present the business as support oriented, the more loyal following you will get. Web hosting itself isn't purely service. Primarily we are allocating a slice of space on the hard drive and on the data pipes for each customer. Without those two physical ingredients none of the services could be made available. pattox 03-04-2003, 04:06 AM Luck is the mother of evil. ServeForce 03-04-2003, 06:15 AM I think it depends on the promotion. Some promotions are worth it, and I put more $$ towards it. Some don't show anything, and I discontinue :) Web Hosting Stuff 03-06-2003, 10:12 PM Advertising is a science ... then an art. It almost never happens by luck. Read the advertising books and you'll realize why maths play an important role ;) tandem 03-07-2003, 05:30 AM Originally posted by zoli Bob, but you advertised when you started httpme.com right?
