Nagios is reporting this for my sprintlink line: PING OK - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 65.72 ms But it looks like from a lot of other places there's issues: 9 gig10-2.hsa1.Philadelphia1.level3.net (209.247.9.26) 75.175 ms 75.124 ms 75.590 ms 10 unknown.Level3.net (64.157.236.2) 831.585 ms 837.027 ms 843.800 ms and 9 sl-gw1-pen-10-0.sprintlink.net (144.232.5.6) 124.630 ms 123.598 ms 193.201 ms 10 sl-hostnoc-1-0.sprintlink.net (144.228.171.178) 1144.920 ms 1087.317 ms 1044.330 ms So I didn't even notice from here, but it looks hammered from everywhere else... -David eddy2099 03-01-2003, 03:24 PM Don't see any problem here on my machine. Did a traceroute and got roughly the same results I have always been getting. Edgar Figaro 03-01-2003, 03:30 PM All I see here on my server, everything takes ages to load. eddy2099 03-01-2003, 03:34 PM I guess the problem could only be isolated to some machines or some racks or something. Or just my access through sprint is normal. Weird. Incidentally, edgar, I tried visiting your site and things are responsive here. Could have been an intermittent issue from the pipe to your pc. 9 202 ms 215 ms 190 ms sl-bb20-stk-12-0.sprintlink.net [144.232.20.98] 10 251 ms 279 ms 249 ms sl-bb20-pen-10-1.sprintlink.net [144.232.18.45] 11 257 ms 262 ms 251 ms sl-gw1-pen-9-0.sprintlink.net [144.232.5.2] 12 287 ms 312 ms 274 ms sl-hostnoc-1-0.sprintlink.net [144.228.171.178] 13 264 ms 266 ms 274 ms 66.197.XX.XX Edgar Figaro 03-01-2003, 04:00 PM Probably, as things are fine again now:) xAngelx 03-01-2003, 08:33 PM Actually after getting a faceful of IM windows from customers complaining about lag I emailed Nocster support about this as my server was either unreachable or lagged to hell and back for an hour last night. It took 2 tries but I finally got this admission out of the ever elusive and mysterious Dan. "This latency was due to work on our network being performed in order to implement the new circuit we have received from Verio. I apologize for the inconvenience." I settled for a simple slap on the wrist for them not informing us of this potential network downtime in advance so we can in turn warn our own customers about it. Personally I hope this never happens again without warning, I logged on from home last night to get 10 IM's from ppl who wanted to know what was wrong and I had no answer to give them at the time. This was followed by 3 angry emails this morning from ppl that tried to sign up during that downtime and now refuse to accept that it was an abnormal thing and not daily issue. |
