So far dedicated hosting has been a disaster for me.

First I got a Cobalt Raq3 from IQnection - guess what? They're a front for ***** and they haven't got any better since they're famed collapse of January 2000. It was a disaster from the start. Underpowered, overpriced, and rarely there! Either it crashed and I waited two frantic days to get someone to help, or the network would go down daily.

I tried to get another host, but either they were over priced, or they didn't return calls.
Weinbar did take my order, but never delivered. I gave up after a week. Strange one that...

After a few other non-starters, finally I got a message form Jay at pwebtech.com, and had a shiny new (inexpensive) 1 GHz/256/20GB machine setup in two days. My dream hosting platform. Everything I have been promised I have received, and they are always responsive when I need something. And I need, I am very picky on technical matters. The network has never hiccupped in these weeks. I asked for and got Redhat 7.1 installed and configured at no extra cost.

If you need a dedicated server at a decent price, then I would have no hesitation about recommending pwebtech.com strongly, contact me if you need to.

Hey that's great news that you are happy. I am going to have to bite the bullet and get a dedi sometime over the next month myself. I went to pwebtech.com today and a lot of the links are broken :-( So it was hard to find info. I'll have to email them.

My machine was built to my exact spec from scratch, and Ed @ PW took the effort to pick up a motherboard from their supplier personally when the one originally sent was faulty.

Uptime has been 100% and tech support has been excellent! Jason and Ed respond to emails within the hour, if not within minutes! Admittedly there's been no major problem, but it's nice to get even the little things sorted quickly.

even though they're direct competitors of ours, i'd just like to say that pegasus is ok. i've talked to jay quite a bit -- and it's obvious that they're a solid company that puts the client first.
