I think wht needs to lock threads after a reasonable time, say two months, to prevent further posting in them.

There is an example today, top board, where someone has posted in a dead thread -- last previous post was more than 7 and a half months ago.

Keep letting us search, view and link to them, but don't let us dig up these dead solders.

But do you know how time-consuming that would be?

There's an option for it in vb i think. Maybe lock threads older than a year?

A year is too long, IMO. Maybe 3 to 6mths?

I am pretty sure htis has been brought up before, and there was a reason why the mods couldn't do it.
