Before I pick up the phone and call the attorney - I wanted to confirm I was on the right track. :)
I just got a merchant account and they told me that to ward off chargebacks you either have to:
1) make it real clear that the name on the merchant account is different than the website name (which I am use to because of PaySystems and the only chargebacks I had was due to that reason) and
2) best solution is to have the merchant account name in the website name.
I want to keep services separate (domain registrations from hosting) so I was going to register to domains which have my merchant account name in it.
Now what I want to know is if I LLC these separately, will they be completely independent of each other legally even though they use the same merchant account? I am using Modernbill I would like to use DRAMS and it would be much easier to have one merchant account. This way clients with multiple domain names and multiple hosting packages can be lumped together.
For legal purposes, I want each one separate. That way if I get a lawsuit against the domain registration company I would not have to worry about the hosting being affected or vice versa.
I know it is rare for a lawsuit to happen but in the event it did it's worth the couple hundred bucks to protect yourself.
I wanted to confirm my logic is on the right track - I hate to pay an attorney to tell me NO! LOL
Thanks!
