View Full Version : Why is it....
I just found this site today. I read through some of the messages and visited some of the sites in peoples signatures. Why is it that everyone here who says their a web hosting company are reselling alabanza?
Your knocking hosting companies (and maybe you were wronged and have the right to) but your only a reseller! I saw certain ppl put down 5+ hosting companies. Seriously now, did you try all 5? Or are you just trying to promote yourself? Your only a reselling from one of the "big boys" so stop putting down all the "big boys"!
PPL don't technically resell for Alabanza. They lease a server(s) which are used by their customers only.
There is no such thing as reselling for Alabanza, they DO NOT offer hosting accounts.
You can only resell something that was sold once already, hence RE selling. They lease servers, you sell hosting, what was resold?
Maybe grab a brain before you flap your gums
MikeA 07-12-2000, 04:49 PM Unless someone is colocating a server, they lease a server from someone else. Alabanza does not sell hosting space, they lease servers, same as Rackspace and DialtoneInternet.

TheComputerGuy 07-12-2000, 06:57 PM see lease and selling are different. Lease being u own for rent. Selling means u sell it to someone for keeps, or allotted time. that doesnt make sense does it?
For2,
Most of us have been around to try different companies before settling on a company we like, know and use a lot. I personally have been with at least 6 companies before I settled on Below10Host (yep, another Alabanza hoster, but fantastic guys) because I was seriously unhappy with the other 6 companies. Most other people around here have also tried at least 2 or 3 companies and have had extremely unpleasant experiences with at least 1 (just ask Annette or others).
Please, oh please, next time check the facts, ask politely, then open your mouth if you still wish.
Just don't blame us if the flames are burning your butt! :D
Duster 07-13-2000, 01:35 AM Why is it that some newcomers discover this forum, read a very few posts, and then, minutes later, feel compelled to display their ignorance by making asinine posts that insult most everyone, make broad and untrue categorizations, and not only demonstrate that they are uninformed, but make comments that can only be described as stupid?
Perhaps the best course of action for the rest of us is to ignore them completely, If they won't take the time to read more and learn about the good that our communication results in, maybe we shouldn't take the timne to respond to their absurd comments. They seem to have made up their minds based on very little and have closed it, which makes it pointless for us to try to give them any more knowledge.
A mind is like a parachute, it only works if it is fully open.
There should be a faq on how to make a good post.
Browser needs spell check.

Chicken 07-13-2000, 08:10 PM Duster, I wonder that as well. I mean, we were all new to this at one time, so generally I understand newbie questions and posts. I still don't know everything, but I sure as heaven wouldn't come here and post something about how all of digitalnation's customers who leased servers were just resellers.
I compare it to people like my ex-girlfriend. She was very intelligent (not opinion), but NOT bright enough to know when NOT to say something. She made people feel stupid by her rude comments and very few people liked her. Arrogance isn't all that attractive.
Duster 07-13-2000, 09:15 PM None of us know everything, or possibly could. Let's face it, the computer field can be humbling to those who take pride in how much they know. What they know can change rapidly and somebody else will know things they don't.
I'm glad to see most beginners treated well here. I don't care for any forum where beginners are treated with hostility for asking an innocent question. That is a far cry from beginners who come in making accusations and condeming what they obviously don't understand.
Such people are definitely lower on the scale of intelligence and/or social skills. It certainly doesn't encourage people to respond positively to their scathing criticism.
